On WOR they were talking about out how WWE and New Japan might be in negotiations for Shinsuke to work Tanahashi at 1/4 show. Dave then goes on to speculate about the potential partnership and hints that things with NJPW and AEW “arent perfect but it’s on good terms”. I wonder why?.Starts at 33:00https://youtu.be/Wh9XcwtRBcg?si=QpZ8QkfYJYVRE4pn
Sad part I was hotter than the replacement
>>19217756Huh?
>>19217751NJPW shouldn't get Shinsuke unless Rocky Romero is fired and the AEW partnership is kept to a minimum and then subsequently halted
>>19217751Oh no no no
>>19217751NJPW getting Nakamura for Tanahashi's retirement match would be so much more interesting than Okada. For both kayfabe and real world reasons
>>19217751>it's not PERFECTKek, that octave raise is all you need to hear
Even if NJPW is pissy about Tony's poaching killing the partnership wouldn't really solve that either. If Tony wants them then Tony will keep throwing money at it until he gets them. That said it won't surprise me if trying to negotiate with Tony on how to use Takeshita and other AEW talents is a nightmare compared to when they borrow CMLL talents. I don't think NJPW will kill the partnership but I can see them heavily scaling back how much they do with AEW aside from maybe Forbidden Door.
>>19217994both would be boring as shit. I'm tired of Nostalgia bullshit.
Tanahashi vs. Nakamura in 2025 sounds absolutely dreadful from an in-ring standpoint.
>>19218029Him just saying that means something is going on . My guess is that Tony is about to steal away another toy
>>19218063It's pretty much a given two or three War Dogs is bouncing to AEW.
>>19218058Any Tanahashi match is dreadful at this point. He moves like the Iron Sheik.
>>19218073Oh my god KEK
>>19218063Watch Tony pull Takeshita from WK to do collision or some fuckin thing
>>19217751so this is why porkies is having a never seen before monumental melty
>>19218941Yep that was the software they are using, plus anything or anyone sneak inWhy this winks exist to remember people pedos never left
>>19218939I think the new Japan fans really don’t like where the title is right now and that might be what Dave was talking about
>>19218045Who would you suggest for Ace's retirement match?
>>19219638literally any new person they plan to get behind literally anyone under even 35.
>>19218073you guys say this every month for the last 2 years or so
>>19219719good thing njpw isn't worried about what fat white smark weebs want
>>19219719You had months to see him mindlessly put over young guys and do zero nostalgia which led to a mid retirement tour and grim business. Fuck ending it all with that.
>>19219719He already put over everyone that he needed to though
>>19219828>>19219858Not my fault they were retarded about it and did it backwards.
>>19219881It's definitely your fault for not knowing what's even going on then crying because they didn't do it your simple-minded way where 1 match somehow makes someone Stone Cold overnight
>>19220163>stone coldhe wasn't worth shit in Japan.
>>19219807If you've followed NJPW the past year, hell just what has happened and been said the past month, every sign points to Gabe and Clark moving on
>>19217751Send this image to Dave MeltzerHe needs a reality check
>>19220847Fucking hell, what a waste
>>19221556Yeah Gabe in particular had a truly unique connection to the domestic audience as a foreigner, something even Kenny didn't have, and after that first great clash between him and Tsuji at New Beginning all those years of him ascending just imploded with that Death Riders run-in. Gets a big moment at Dominion but it's tainted, gets injured in a critical G1 and ultimately puts Tsuji over and effectively ends the War Dogs as they are.
>>19217751Tony burned another bridge? No wonder he's trying to steal NWA. Just pay for it, ya cheap fuck!
>"Aren't perfect but it's on good terms"Wow, that's literally every successful partnership in existence
>>19221623Gabe is interesting because he absolutely sucks in America. His Strong bookings were stupid, even for Strong. The bizarre presentation as the 5th string player for the Death Riders is trash. It was also all contradictory to how he was primarily presented in Japan, a violent, crazy gaijin who loved New Japan. I hope he gets paid well and everything but I feel like he's going to crash and burn pretty hard in AEW. Assuming he goes anyway, not like it's actually confirmed
NJPW is dead and Tony killed it.
>>19218044Their hands are tied as long as their world title is being held hostage by one of AEW’s midcard shitters
>>19222823>I feel like he's going to crash and burn pretty hard in AEWIf he was smart he would have done another year in NJPW doing his "i am Shin Nippon" stuff. He might have even got an IWGP Heavyweight run out of it and would have been able to add another zero to his offer from Tony (plus he'd he more of a smark/meltzer darling). But he blew his load and took Tony's excited offer straight after the Omega match and Tony already doesn't know what to do with him. He's fated to be a background Death Rider now. I assume he'll be another AEW wrestler thats barely used and then has a crash out on social media
>>19217751Two of AEW's exes, AAA and TNA, ran into the arms of WWE. If AEW fumbles its relationship with New Japan, the optics of that would be disastrous. Also, I know a lot of New Japan fans aren't thrilled about an AEW guy being their world champion, but how sick would it be if Gunther had a run as champion, maybe send Sami and Ilja to wrestle in the G1. Fucking kino.
>>19223677>Gunther had a run as championThis would be good because he'd actually be presented as an invading foreign heel. Unlike Takeshita who's weirdly presented as the "hero to unify pro-wrestling" while the crowds walk out and boo him
>>19217751>Good termsSure Dave
>>19219819Only fat smark weebs want Nakamura or Okada. It should be Parker, thoughbeit
>>19217751On his recent episode with Garrett, Dave said that he has a girlfriend and he took her to the mick Foley comedy show.
Tony fails at everything he touches
>>19219819Then what's the point of the partnership? The Japanese fans do not give a fuk besides someone returning like Kenny or Okada, and that almost never happens but they have to endure Heavyweight title matches with Jungle Boy and Ricochet. AEW doesn't even respect the rules for the divisions in NJPW.
>>19217751That ring size is small
