>exclusively traveled with Steve Austin before Debra showed up>gets constant praise from everyone from Foley to Taker to the APA>everyone wanted to work with themHow the fuck did two guys who couldn’t speak a lick of English become so popular in the back? Everyone hated each other but no one hated Kai En Tai
>>19231618taka is a amazing worker and funaki is a really good comedy wrestler so they were perfect for putting good matches together
>>19231618They were good workers, put people over without bitching and gave said people some of their best matches. And because they didn't bitch or politic the office, even though Austin would more than likely have their backs, didn't use that influence made their co-workers like an respect them. They were over for being an undercard tag team and had that feud with Val Venis. Not sure if they're Hall of Fame worthy as a team. Taka may be for helping to establish the Light Heavyweight division back in the day. But Funaki did, and still does a lot for the company, like being a translator and Japanese commentary, while Taka is running his own promotion and is turning out some good wrestlers now, like former World of Stardom champ Maika. So that post in-ring career stuff may help them get over the hump if they factor all of that in.
>>19231618Funaki speaks english fluently.
>>19231618Based 140lb jobbers who knew their place
Ive noticed Japs are really good at the backstage stuff when they're in a US promotion. No complaints and everybody loves and respects them.
>>19231872they pretend not to speak english until its time for a promoter to pay up. how could the boys not respect that?
>>19231872it's the famous japanese passiveness
Not a lot of pussey on the road back in the day and Japanese men are very feminine. The top guys would pass them around to get their needs met.
