Here are the prediction results
>>
Show was better than expected even if the results were mostly never in doubt. A very easy watch.

Also I predicted the Suzume challenge days ago and I'm still disappointed, but objectively she should be getting these chances. Good merch seller, popular, decent wrestler. If you're not building up midcard talent to a higher level, what are you doing? Can't have them swimming in opening tags forever.

Now we just have to see if they pull the trigger and end Miu's reign. Ideally I'd like to see Suzume wrestle Rika for the belt someday and give Rika a reign with actual fans in the stands. They could also play off their history.

>>19234054
She won the belt via "ref stoppage" when she had Yuka in a submission hold and Yuka didn't tap out. Then she defended it once or twice, I think. One was against Miu. Maybe once against Maki? Then they had the big Cyberfight Festival show and it's widely believed they wanted Miyu to go in as champ so they had her kick Rika's ass and take the belt

It's a huge indignity they've never fixed and likely never will.

Also the CFF match ended with Yuka losing and getting up and no selling the finish to walk back up the ramp.

If popularity mattered, they'd have never give Miyu that long reign a few years ago. Then again, Wakana is tag champ because she pops the foreign fans. So it varies.

Silver lining, Shino and Himawari were more over in that match than Ober Eats. Shino especially. Hopefully it eats away at Wakana

Rika has generally maintained her popularity, if not her place on the card, since before COVID. She could easily be the next champ if they wanted to play into her relationship with Suzume, or even just have a good champ who has good matches and who people like.

But if it's like the last several champs, Rika is always the first or second defense and loses. She was an early defense for Miu, she was the first defense for Mizuki. Miyu's last reign she only defended against foreigners (which I think was on purpose). It's always Shoko and Rika these days because they're former champs who they don't mind beating to give the new champ credibility. You would never have Miyu or Yuka be a first defense because they were taken more seriously.
>>
>>19234086
I think they are a perfect slow burn tag champ once the tag division gets more fleshed out. Sorta like Daisy Monkey having a great run at max heart with YukiAniki being their gatkeepers.

She luckily salvaged this dive but I don't think I've ever seen Miu do a pescado before. Maybe this is why.

It reminds me of when Suzume started doing dives to the outside and either purposely or by accident clipped her feet on the top rope so she'd literally tumble and flip over when landing. Scared the shit out of me. I haven't seen her do it in a while.

>Toga: “When Wakana Uehara won the (tag team) title, it really stirred something inside me. We’re from the same class, we even started training on the very same day. But little by little, she was the first among us to get her first win against a senior wrestler, and now she’s also the very first to capture a championship belt. It feels like she’s pulling farther and farther away from me. But just feeling frustrated won’t change anything.”
>Uehara: “But I definitely don’t want to lose to my fellow rookies. We’ve even fought together for this belt before, but I believe that holding this title now means I’ve taken one step ahead of the Class of 2023. So there’s no way I’m giving up this belt.”
>Uehara: Our challengers this time are from the same class—the 2023 group. Since debuting, we’ve constantly been compared to one another. Things like, “So-and-so’s working hard, you have to keep up,” have always been said. When I won the 2023 Next Generation Tournament, I thought I’d finally taken a step forward. But then in 2024, I had to compete again and ended up losing to Haru Kazashiro. I honestly started to wonder if I’d ever be able to break out of that “class of 2023” bracket. But now, having won these belts with Kamifuku-san, I really feel like I’ve moved forward. This might sound a bit harsh, but while I consider my 2023 classmates—and all of Tokyo Joshi—a precious part of me, I have no interest in just staying side by side and getting along for the sake of it. So I’m not letting go of these belts."
>Shino: When my classmate Wakana won the belts, the first thing I felt was—while I was happy for her, I was also incredibly frustrated."
>HIMAWARI: And this will actually be my second challenge for these titles. The first time, I went for them with Wakana. Now that she’s gone on to win the belts before me, as part of her official tag team “Ober Eats,” teaming with a senior to wear the titles… of course that’s frustrating."

>One was against Miu
That was the match that more or less made Miu. I remember at the time Koda was still trying to push her and Aino as generational rivals who'd carry the company in the future and Miu still came off as kind of mediocre and unimpressive. But she was given the opportunity to challenge for the belto, stepped up big time being carried by Rika, and from that point on left Aino completely in the dust Miu and Aino as generational rivals. Now Miu has basically become the new ace while Aino is still toiling around in the midcard and will probably be get surpassed by Haru too.

Aino is basically TJPW's YOSHI-HASHI.

Go check out the Korakuen numbers from 2017-2019. Yes! Wonderland and Brand New Wrestling would do Ittenyon numbers and I'd bet that without the benefit of WK, Ittenyon now would be doing what their other Korakuen numbers do.

You can argue that they're running more Korakuen shows now so overall it's up but the per-show numbers don't lie. TJPW was white hot in 2018 and 2019 and growing rapidly enough to where they probably could have been more of a legit competitor to Stardom. But Covid, years of lazy booking and half-hearted investment and promotion from their owners has basically stagnated their growth. Ice Ribbon was also doing incredibly well at the time. Stardom is essentially lucky its ownership is both a lot more active and not retarded and actually works to make see it succeed.

You can be fine with things staying as they are but that's also the mentality of Takagi, Koda and the like and that prevents growth. DDT basically got lucky that Takechi brought in a lot of women who decided to stick around because they were otherwise in the same position. And hoping "well we'll just float and hope we get lucky with somebody" is basically a loser's way of thinking.

Look at the post earlier about knowing Haru still has a few years on job duty to seniors despite being ffairly over, good in the ring and showing that she can represent TJPW really well to the media. She should be getting pushed a lot harder and faster than she is but Koda's under no urgency to do so because the mentality he has is "eh, we're doing fine where we are and there's no need to actually compete with Stardom" and Takagi sure as hell isn't going to light a fire under his ass about it because he largely thinks the same way.

I just checked the numbers and what? They only had 3 whole korakuen shows in 2019, those were their big shows for the year, and they drew 1381 for ittenyon, 1110 in May, and 905 in August. In 2018 they drew 1202 for ittenyon, 1202 in May, and 960 in August. They only had 3 big shows a year and they were all in korakuen hall.

This year their big shows have drawn 1483 for ittenyon, 515 for max heart finals, 1212 for grand princess, 812 in Vegas, 2540 for Dallas, 1384 for SSP, 1127 for WP6, 719 for additional attack, and 730 for all rise. How could you possibly interpret these numbers as being worse than 2018/19? They run way more big shows now than just korakuen and the big shows are better attended. What kind of bizarre logic are we using that 905 in autumn 2019 is more than 1384 or 2540?

Not completely. They already had started building momentum without him and actually shifting their structure a bit along with the plethora of young guys they had waiting to go further beyond. They actually seeked to create more intrigue into the promotion and it paid off even better with Takechi coming in.
>>
Please stop arguing with the doomer moron, everyone here knows the promotion is doing well attendance wise, he just keeps moving goalposts. Next he'll start using cyberfight 1 numbers to compare
