Welcome to the speakeasy, you fuckin jamokes. NWA Powerrr is a GANGSTA oldschool wrestling show brought to you by Big Boss Billy AKA Don Corgano, the boss of the NWA crime family. That's right, the NWA has always been a ruthless crime syndicate, that's how it survived all these years. Don Corgano runs the underworld with an iron fist, from prostitution to organ trafficking and everything in between. So before you sit down with some hooch and enjoy the show, make sure you kiss the don's ring or you might end up floatin in the river, you know what I mean? Just sayin, accidents can happen if you don't show the proper respect. Anyway, here's an offer you can't refuse. You can watch NWA Powerrr with me and the boys at 8PM for free with no account:https://therokuchannel.roku.com/watch/e25551b0bb4953c4b1043caef77181abPrevious episodes can be seen here:https://therokuchannel.roku.com/details/3869d846ae1753ffb6a0d3d6b0d1a2fc/nwa-powerrrTonight's Card:>Baron Von Storm Vs Daisy Kill>An 8-man Tag match to settle a feud between two of the territories (JCP and KFW)>Kenzie Page Vs Natalia Markova for the NWA Women's Title
>>19252361sure why not kenzie and markova are hot enough to be worth watching
>>19252361first thing i see is a nazi gimmick and a decent heel promo so solid start i guess
>>19252381>>19252423glad to see you mugs. have some hooch.
And the Baron wins by DQ after a chair shot from Daisy Kill,
>>19252361caught ya criminal scum, open up in the name of the law
and now the two tennessee territories will duke it out in an 8-man tag
>>19252535YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE COPPER
I'm not familiar with most of these people, I assume this is a dispute to see who gets the TN territory?
>>19252604I think that's where they're going with it, yes. they can't logically continue having two promotions in the same territory.
ey boss i got the password lemme in this here speakeasy
>>19252681Let's hear it. You betta not be lyin, jamoke.
this is actually a pretty good match, great selling, good variety, plenty of gimmicky stuff and at least some kind of story behind it.

>>19252877take it from me, dames like that are nothin but trouble. it reminds me of a dark and stormy night in a city full of sin, where the whores are as thick as fleas on a dog's back, when this no-good dame slipped me a mickey and then stole my maltese falcon.
good shit so far, really wanting to see Markova take the belt, she's easily the best female they've got. I like Kenzie and all but it's about that time.
>>19252931I like how she keeps deliberately showing off her cunt lol
>>19252968she's a real frisky broad for sure

damn next weeks show is stacked, got a tag title match and a world title match. thrillbilly vs latimer should be fire
>>19253027for only having 3 matches this one was pretty good, I'd rather see 3 solid matches than 10 bad ones.
NXT is so fucking gay
>>19253063nxt? lol whats that?
the fuck is up with this mafia larp shit?
>>19253171NWA ran the game like gangsters for 50 years, until that bum Vinnie Mac came along and spoiled everybody's hustle, see? But now he's gone, see, so we're takin ova these streets like big baby sweets and you better kiss the Godfather's ring like all the rest or you're goin in da river, capice?

>>19253273nice, gonna record this one for sure
>>19253220It was either that or cable TV would cause one promotion to dominate the business. AWA and WCW (GCW and Jim Crockett Promotions as well) both had cable TV partners that expanded the reach of their promotions along with Jim Crockett putting major shows on PPV well before WWE. Couple that with the internet a few decades later and anyone could easily just start their own promotion and tour the world.
>>19253545that's pretty much what happened, national-level TV networks showed a lot of preferential treatment for the WWF and that is the only reason they were able to push everyone else out. McMahon could never have done what he did without a shitload of help from the same kind of people who now own WWE. That's what happens when you make a deal with the devil. In the end, they take it all.
>>19253545Again and again, McMahon has been able to sabotage TV deals of other feds, almost at will. There are so many examples that I would probably hit the character limit before I could hit them all. How is it that he was able to do that again and again and again? Because he was their tool with which to consolidate one of the few sectors of the entertainment industry that they did not own. Who are they? that should be obvious.
>>19253573and eventually that results in people wanting alternatives. Ring of Honor, JCW, TNA, CZW, even the NWA themselves along with other international promotions and regional indies filled in the gap for audiences that WWE left behind over the years. Hell, nowadays there's no need for a TV deal as the internet can easily be used to air shows nowadays. Doesn't really require much to start a weekly show if you are in the business.
>>19253614it has gotten a little better now, simply because the internet makes it easier to create a weekly show, but it is still pretty hard for smaller feds to compete with only a tiny fraction of the public visibility that the televised feds have. when TV finally dies entirely it might be different of course. I think that will surely help.
>>19253661True. Honestly, I'm looking forward to seeing what JCW can do this week. In my opinion, they actually might have the chance to be one of the largest promotions in the US behind WWE, TNA, and AEW.
>>19253679same, the russo thing definitely brought them some good press, they thoroughly worked the dirtsheets and probably got some new eyes on them, which was awesome. I really think that the top 3 feds are likely to continue declining, which will create a lot of opportunities for those companies that can maintain an audience. I'm not too worried about JCW or NWA going under because both seem to have very stable and loyal fanbases.
Oh and as for some of the wrestlers on the NWA, some of them honestly need PR training (*cough cough* Bryan Idol)
>>19253711What's quite interesting is that major wrestling outlets have started covering them. Fightful started to cover them back in the summer when the Showcase Showdown happened. Prowrestling.net even got a regular writer publishing articles on JCW's shows.
>>19253725took them long enough lol, JCW has been around for like 25 years. most of the wrestling media is so worthless, but it is a good sign nevertheless.
this is kino, i have to say i enjoyed this show more than nxt mainly for all the eye candy in the main event.
Not gonna blame anyone getting beat up weekly for wanting to stopWho the fuck does that?
>>19253738Well 26 years since last year was their 25th anniversary. Hell, the Gathering of the Juggalos wasn't even around when JCW first started doing shows until the summer of 2000 at the Novi Expo Center in suburban Detroit (the Gathering was a lot different back in its early years than it is nowadays to be honest)
>>19253773Same here. They've improved quite a bit but it'll take time for the NWA to get back to their 2019 levels.
>>19253756well here in the NWA crime family, we appreciate our juggalo allies. when we rub out all these jamokes, the streets will be ours, see? we're gonna rub out all these bums and divide the loot 50/50, see? that's the code of the streets, that's how real men do business.
>>19253789based on crowd size, they seem to be doing pretty well, they're actually able to go outside the studio and get a decent bunch of people these days. unless billy is comping a hell of a lot of tickets I think they're safe.
>>19253818True. Honestly, maybe this is what the NWA needs. To go out on the road. A lot of Indies have done it before with varying levels of success (Rocky Mountain Pro, MLW, JCW, etc.) but the good thing is that all those promotions including the NWA are well aware with what venues they can fill up.
>>19253845yeah they definitely need to establish a circuit of places where they can draw, which they seem to be doing pretty well so far. But really, I think JCW has a much easier time with that because there are juggalos almost everywhere.
>>19253853I would say they also need to use YouTube if they want a global audience as well. Hell, maybe establishing partnerships with overseas promotions could work as well.
>>19253880I'm still not sure why Powerrr left youtube, I assume there must have been some kind of reason but I don't know what it was. NWA still has a channel of course but no full episodes. I would assume that the Roku deal probably pays better but again not really sure on that one.
>>19253897Unfortunately their chasing of TV deals only fucked them over. Corgan honestly doesn't understand how to fully utilize the platforms that the NWA is on in my opinion.
>>19253905the CW deal absolutely fucked them over hard, but only because CW pulled some really dirty shit. I really don't think Corgan can be blamed for that one because they literally pulled a darth vader on him, making a deal and then altering the terms as soon as it suited them.
>>19253927well let's consider the chain of events:>NWA starts to pick up some steam>gets a deal with the CW>deal is announced, people are actually talking about it somewhat>all of a sudden NXT wants a show on the same network and the same time>NXT gets the timeslot and Powerrr is relegated to the dimeless CW mobile app that literally no one usesIt was a setup, plain and simple.
Mike Mondo is a fucking beast
Even Talos (AKA Painful Paul in JCW) rightly fears the legendary iron claw
>>19253951Well Corgan has made a few mistakes in the past as well. For example the FITE TV deal which fucked the fans and the NWA over. Numerous episodes were deleted from YouTube entirely with no viable alternative to watch them.
>>19253987I don't think he was entirely prepared for the level of snaky dirty shit that these networks and what not were willing to pull, but I'm just glad that none of those early mistakes were fatal.
And Daisy Kill is the Baron's next unfortunate victim.
>>19253998Honestly, one thing that baffled me is his stance on using YouTube as a platform to air wrestling when there are worse broadcasters out there. YouTube doesn't cost a single bit of money to air content on to be honest here. Though traditional TV and subscription streaming is dead so it's somewhat inevitable that promotions are going to figure out that free platforms like YouTube may be the future of the industry.
>>19253951that's half the reason NXT exists, they counterprogram everything
>>19254024Well, to be honest I am glad they aren't based primarily on Youtube anymore because Youtube is owned by Google which is as crooked and evil as it gets. the people who own Roku don't seem anywhere near as bad. Not putting money in Google's pocket is a good thing in my book.
>>19254035Well to be honest here, Rumble could've been a better option for them as they have a global reach and their fanbase aligns more with them than YouTube. However, I feel like the NWA needs to be on multiple platforms instead of just having an exclusive TV deal with limited reach.
>>19253965The only thing that could defeat him: an itchy back!
>>19254061Multiple platforms wouldn't be a bad thing at all, yeah. but at least they're somewhere where people can actually find them again. Even I wasn't willing to use that stupid CW app.
>>19254073kek probably so, and I think he's actually got a little wider since that video was made.
This little fucker named Hunter actually has some moves on him.
>>19254074Even better would be to find a place to air their major events live. For North America, they have the Roku deal which could benefit them but they would need overseas partners or platforms they can dump their stuff on.
>>19254095they will eventually need some kind of international platform, I would say, because Roku wouldn't really work so well for that. If it gets popular enough I think they could probably do well in Europe or maybe Japan.
hookin yall up with a nice view of Kylie Page
the little bastard finally got caught
nice spot here
>>19253712bryan idol did nothing wrong and tony khan is a faggot spawned from mongolians who had sex with sheep and monkeys

I remember watching a random Kamille vs. Allyson Kay match a few years back, and it was legitimately on of the best women's bouts I'd seen in ages. They actually had good psycology, and proved that storytelling trumps pointless spots every time.>>19254453It was only a matter of time. Seems like Billy reards those who are loyal to him, which makes sense I guess.
>>19255322*I meant Billy REWARDS - not REARS. Though he probably does that too.
>>19254453kek to the bros in the front row

>>19255333this isn't WWE, pretty sure the talent doesn't have to suck anyone's dick or take it in the ass to get booked.
