I zapped past AEW last night when commercials ran in the more interesting programme I was watching. The first thing I noticed how empty the seats in the venue were. Then my eyes wandered from the ranks to the caged setup and I realized just how tiny the venue was. Only then did I notice the "wrestlers" in the ring. They were, naturally, unimpressive, but it's concerning that an avid wrestling watcher like myself noticed them only third. Someone else might not even have noticed that any wrestling was on if they accidentally came across the channel.Needless to say, I skipped past the sham after 8 seconds and didn't bother checking it again. I went to the kitchen to make a tuna salad instead, but not before counting my calories. I try my best to always stay below 1,200 to retain a toned appearance.I went on /pw/ afterwards and saw no one discuss the show. Everyone was posting about WWE instead. The same thing happened on X. I didn't bother checking leddit, for I know it's astroturfed by Tonikan's bots. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Then, I started pondering about the future of AEW. How can they survive? Their broadcaster is bankrupt and could be sold, potentially to Netflix, at any moment. They don't have any stars and their former top stars are already back to making fun of them. Their ratings and attendance have cratered and it seems everyone is over the charade. Soon, they will be forgotten. I felt almost a sadness at this prospect, but then remembered that the memories would always remain. Remain to laugh at, that is.So now I make this thread and ask /pw/: What do you think? Will AEW survive the coming year? Will they go out of business?
