Turns out nepo babies need to fail a bit and not get bailed out by their famous parents. Their parents also tell them how to fleece the marks and avoid their reps, so they never actually get better until they have to do or die. Hook has been stagnant for YEARS and having him do a bunch of indies would force him to grow as a character.
