They threw Bron into the fire here, and he wasn't awful. He's been anointed the "next guy" so they have no choice but to pressure him into developing his skills sooner than he can handle. The credibility that comes with his family name seems to have served him from the start, and it helped shape the hyper-aggressive alpha "badass" character he's developed since. He continually gets better in the ring, and to his credit he seems to understand that his ring style and character ought to complement each other (as his father and uncle no doubt drilled into his head).

The Creative Department and HHH laid down this challenge to see whether Bron can cut a promo worthy of a few more Netflix subs and renewals. Bron's nerves were obvious. He turbo-babbled at a mile a minute. He knows he's being judged, and this led to a visible lack of confidence that undermined this particular showing. It wasn't like Curt Hennig's kid though (I forget that shitter's name). Bron can get there. He needs to key in more on the attitude he conveys when he wrestles as he delivers his promos instead of trying to crack some witty quips like that dud line about Becky being more famous than Seth. Part of me wishes he'd just rip off his mentally unstable uncle Scott and begin viciously burying Punk by accusing him of having a pussy that smells like sewage, but I'm trying to be realistic. Bron will be a legitimate WWE main event talker if he can simply settle himself a bit when he delivers his lines, and comes as close as he can to channeling the demeanor of the pissed off, hair-triggered, and ultraviolent character Austin portrayed to introduce the Stone Cold character early on (I emphasize only the *demeanor of that character* here, Bron of course will never rise to match Austin's mic skills). We'll see, but I believe in Bron.

I agree with most of what you said.

I think his character hinges on a combo of 4 things:

1) unpredictability / instability
2) hair-triggered
3) intense energy
4) ultraviolent

This sets the stage for a guy where you never know how he’ll react or what might set him off. You just know when he does, he’ll go ballistic and destroy you. (Like a pitbull, hence the barking dogs.) That’s what made the turn on Seth so “character-building foundational.”

But yes, the double edged sword is that the sort of promos you need to cut with a character like that are high energy, rapid fire rants…which means a lot of words delivered loudly and quickly…which means a lot of writing and memorization. Which means a higher chance that you’ll trip up eventually (or squeak your voice, like he’s done a couple times).
