Why the "PC" Era is a Financial & Creative Disaster >Viewership Collapse: 86% Market Share Lost: In '99, 3.6% of the US population watched Raw. Now it's ~0.5%. The audience is gone because the product sucks. That is an 86% drop in appeal.>Russo & Vince McMahon are Creative Geniuses: They created the most popular era in wrestling history. Their "shock TV" recipe worked and captured mainstream America.>"Pundits" & "Smarks" Killed the Business: Jim Cornette and the rest of the online IWC are smarks who hated the winning formula yet everyone listens to them now. They have zero mainstream vision.>"Record Revenue" Is A Lie/Distraction: They're making money because TV networks are desperate for any live content. It's a failure to maximize potential, not a success story. They left billions on the table. >The PC Shift Killed the Product, Not Cord-Cutting: Ratings plummeted when they got "safe" and bought WCW, before mass cord-cutting began. The audience left the show because the content got bland.>No Stars, Just Scripted Robots: They prioritize "smark favorites" who can do flips over charismatic mainstream stars like The Rock and Austin. The content is too safe to make a global icon.>The Smarks' View is a Minority View: The vocal online wrestling community is a tiny niche. The general public wants drama and excitement, not 50/50 booking and corporate-mandated "moments."Stop listening to Jim Cornette and the performers. The abject mess of modern wrestling is what they always wanted (Jim denies it but the modern scene is exactly what he fought for). Listen to Russo the man who created the best era, hes the only one who knows what hes talking aboutThe masses dont want wrestling. They want Jerry Springier on steroids + ECW
>>19398310What are you rambling on about?
>>19398340It's an ad for Russo's podcast
>>19398340Im refuting the current establishment myths that WWE a. needed to go pc and b. that doing so was somehow financially successful (when in actual fact its a disaster) The attitude era was massively successful, and was destroyed (Jim Cornette was one of the people who actively tried to shut it down). He was not the only one by any means, but he did try to stop it, and while it was happening he saw it as bad, and wanted to revert to a more traditional WCW style model ''that focused on the wrestling''He actually threatened to kill Vince Russo at one point. Now he and various other smarks live off the residual success that Russo created.
>>19398310WWE makes more money than they ever have before. That simple fact kills whatever schizobabble is going on here
>>19398405Is the record profits in the room with us right now?
>>19398310All correct, but just like with everything else, everyone's too dug into their factions and cults to think clearly. And every group has a bogeyman, and every think counter to group think is the work of said bogeyman. Social media amplifies this times 3000. As long as it continues as is, it is unironically over and never going back.
>>19398414No they're in TKO's ever increasing stock and profits
>>19398405>>19398414No it doesnt. You have to be mathematically retarded to not understand why a higher overall profit (given the contextual metrics) =/= financial success They lost 86% of the market share. It doesnt matter if they have more money (largely residual from their actual momentum). They have LOST MONEY. Had they not watered down the product and capitulated to political pressure they would have vastly higher profits and leverage Many smarks do actually understand this, they lie anyway (for political reasons)
>>19398454>n-n-no the record profits WWE is legally responsible to report aren't real the company will die any day nowYou're a falseflagging tranny aren't you? If you quit seething about WWE maybe you wouldn't have to headcanon their success away
>>19398487No its literally a disaster. Loosing 86% of the market share is a disaster. ''Record profits'' are the residue of what they would have generated There are similar examples. The company developed the digital camera, but its management suppressed the innovation to protect its highly profitable film business. None are as insane as WWE tho, which sacrificed massive profits on the later of political correctness . Saying ''but look higher profit'', misunderstands basic economics. They where on a trajectory to receive multiples of the current profit. What your saying is like a is NASA do a botched rocket launch that cuts out half way...and they claim its a success because ''look how high it went'' (when had a mechanical error not occurred it would have reached orbit)
>>19398853>making more money than has ever been made before in the business is a disasterLmfao. I'm not reading any more of your post, you're a delusional troon and TKO rightfully ignores your dilating while continuing to break records. Cry about it
>>19398414>Is the record profits in the room with us right now?Yes.
Reminder that Cornette actually started the Attitude Era before Russo even got there and it was him who made Vince stop having dentists fight plumbers and actually have real characters plus Cornette wanted them to push people like heel Rock and Austin, etc.
>>19398454>They lost 86% of the market shareOh? Who did WWE lose it to? Which wrestling promotion has an 86% marketshare now?
the russo face turn was the ultimate swerve all along. i kneel.
>>19398969Its minuscule compared to what it would be had they not shifted trajectory. OP is correct.
>>19398310Why's Haitch talking to Negan
>>19398979No he didnt, and he resisted every attempt to shift to attitude era. Listen to Russo
Le pongo la llave
>>19398310GRASED
>>19398979I'm not a Russo dick sucker like OP but Cornette fucking sucks he is stuck in the 70s if I was a billionaire with a wrestling company I'll rather hire Russo that some hick that slaps the young talent and threatens them with a gun
How divorced from reality do you have to be to think that current wrestling is anything like Jim Cornette wants it to be? Or that it even remotely resembles territory wrestling?
>>19398310I watched Juggalo Shit the other day and the story was presented well but its fucking retarded and the wrestlers are shitters. The idea that there is a mystery, the locker room meets up, people are talking backstage about secrets, etc was at least attempting something. its still not good
Russo-booked WCW lost money hand over fist. As did TNA. He's never drawn a dime without Vince McMahon. So, of course, Russocuck thinks record profits don't matter.
>>19401380I honestly think this guy is getting Jim Cornette confused with Dave Meltzer. The "no story - flippy spotmonkey" shit is way more Meltzer's thing than Cornette's.
>>19401385I would rather watch wrestling with a bad storyline than wrestling with no storyline.
>>19401385I watched it and I don't see what's so great about the story. It's just Vito screaming at the wrestlers and J for a few eps, some bad acting with the wrestlers and then Russo comes out anticlimactically and says he's the real investor. What's so amazing about that, seems pretty barebones. Even the masked guy mystery at survivor series has more oomph to it just cause people refuse to believe it's Theory so it must be someone else.
It isn't a financial disaster, on the face of it WWE should be struggling - it is culturally irrelevant - but wrestling across the board simply switched its model to extracting more money per head from a smaller fanbase. WWE is in constant, consistent growth that is demanded of it - hence all the cost cutting measures, selling out to Saudi etc. That's why you have buy-one-get-one-free extravaganza "PLEs", there are far less fans than ever before but the fans who are there will spend thousands for their "Wrestlemania Experience(tm)". AEW isn't free of this either, it was born from a mega indie show where indie fans got together for a weekend for a big show and celebration of professional wrestling rather than sports entertainment. The casual fan does not exist, unless you're talking about the boomer types who only watch on TV.
>>19401406>>19401412all it did was make me miss the attitude era and the retarded russo era wcw.
Why is this guy acting like WWE has no storylines and is just character-less wrestling matches? Is he getting it confused with AEW? Does he not actually watch any of this and get all his wrestling news from a Vince Russo podcast?
>>19401413its a well managed disaster, because as op says they would have fucktons more money had they not trooned out and watered the product down to nothing
>>19398310>>19401584Vince thought winning the Monday Night War and owning ECW would mean he ascended and will surpass Pro Rasslin' once and for all. They legitimately tried to make it a more Disney like product. Sport Entertainment, more him and the kids, less outrageous stories, no blood, no divas, and a more sanitized presentation with Michael Cole. Vince then saw he wasn't rising to a higher tier and decided to tank the industry because he could. He's a stupid faggot dildo collector and deserves a lot of ridicule.
>>19398405So the MCU is the absolute peak of cinema?
