There is no feeling that they actually need you to be a fan of them as they get paid well regardless. In the old days, you could have a conversation with them at fan meets and photo ops. Now, you are rushed through the line, told not to say anything past hello and thank you and aren't allowed within 3 feet of them. The personalized experience is gone and the booking is boring and doesn't cause one to feel close to the girls so that you feel awful when they are betrayed or when they finally break through and get a belt. It's all too standard now. It's much easier to follow now however and that helps.
