It is annoying how seriously some people even within the business seem to take Dave's ratingsWithin the context of the ratings themselves, and as someone who has been posting about wrestling online since the late 90s so I've been seeing this shit for like 25 years now, I feel like the ratings did have some value back in the day. Like you could look at them regarding stuff you hadn't watched yourself, and if something was 3 or more stars it was probably a pretty good match worth a watch.Nowadays since Dave broke his own scale by giving mediocre shit over 5 stars probably like 100 times at this point, a 3 star match is generally anything that just isn't total shit. Botch filled women's matches wrestled at half speed regularly break 3 stars. Shitty mens matches do too of course.Not sure why I bothered giving a real response but yeah his ratings are shit now. The women's blood and guts which was a botch filled shitfest getting 4.5 is a recent example of his retardation. Find any match he gave 4.5 stars to in the 90s and see the difference.
