First wrestling show I’ve watched in YEARS and holy fuck this was bad lmao.
>>19478560Nobody knows how to work anymore genuinely. Cena himself doesn't, Gunther doesn't, and Gunther is regularly held up as the work rate guy. Everything looks extremely fake and choreographed, there isn't even an attempt at simulation anymore. Movies are fake too but at least they try to look good, wrestling just memes itself.
>>19478641Talk to the invisible hand
>>19478560The ending was unbelievably fumbled, but yeah, the whole match was pretty bad too.
>>19478560>First wrestling show I’ve watched in YEARSSure it was. That's why you ran directly to /pw/ to talk about it. Like someone removed from wrestling who totally hasn't watched it in years would do. Don't forget to tell your friend Mark all about it
>>19478641Unironically I didn't even realise Cena was intentionally smiling before he passed out because the hold looked so shitty I thought it was just a bad acting job of him passing out. I only saw it on the replay. It still is so bizarre to me. I don't think the idea is bad in terms of Cena letting go but the execution was just a bit shit because it was sleeper holds for like 10 minutes straight. Sleepers are good but they were also commonly used as rest holds for a reason. It loses it's effect when you throw someone in one constantly and desu I've seen wrestlers sell badly so I thought it was just that. The match had a few sync errors
>>19478641My big issues with the show as someone that stopped watching as a teen:Too many blacks, only fun match was the AJ match, and Gunther is boring as shit and gave Cena a dog shit final match.
>>19478754People who regularly watch wrestling go to twitter or reddit. I come here because I remember posting here forever ago.
>>19478641I stopped watching regularly like fifteen years ago but the problem with professional wrestling now for me is that its too self referential and ironically doesn't take itself seriously enough. There has to be a certain level of suspension of disbelief as a viewer for it to be watchable but the problem is not even the people wrestling care to put the effort into acting like it's serious to them. There's just a constant sense of "this is all one big joke that we're all in on".
>>19478754Coming to /pw/ is exactly what I'd expect an oldhead to do though
>>19478754This is the only board I can talk about it on
i haven't watched in years and was back for CenaHonestly I don't get why people are mad he tapped. I didn't like the ending but wasn't it a given he was going to tap? It's like the only certainty I had with this match and knew it was happening and I don't follow the product. Surely everyone knew?I just didn't like the execution
first time watching in a while, do only niggers watch wrestling now?
>>19478560that killed Gunther btw, it won't give them the kind of heat they want. It was all for nothing.
I don't get why people are mad about this finishonly thing that makes it look weird is that gunther tapped out to that fucking coconut jobber at wrestlemania
>>19478641>Gunther doesn't, and Gunther is regularly held up as the work rate guyif somebody mentions work rate when talking about a wrestler its pretty much a guarantee they dont know how to work, they just spam moves
>>19479008it gave hhh heat instead of gunther such retarded booking KWAB
>>19478560I stopped watching the actual product years ago and I knew how this match was going to end. That says a lot about today’s WWE. Just a corporate, soulless, lifeless Netflix advertisement. All of these new wrestlers suck too, they’re all skinny fat bums that botch every move and make wrestling look even faker, guys that cut the same generic “worked-shoot” style promos since they can’t get over with regular promos, along with the two mark inner circles running today’s mainstream wrestling (The Elite & The Kliq). Gone are the days of based steroid users and over the edge, puzzling human beings that’ll grind for greatness, now it’s a bunch of nerds happy to be living their childhood dream. Watch WWE get kicked out of Netflix and ESPN like they did FOX, this business does nothing but let you down bud
>>19478641I like Cena more than WALTER, by a wide margin but I know the sloppiness is from Cena. WALTER's other matches are crisp and gritty. The cartoonish, low intensity attacks and botches are cause of Cena.
>>19478929Some people (like me) thought that was a swerve, because actually doing it would be too stupid
>>19479008Gunther is never going to be a draw. That was never a possibility, which is why this is really stupid, especially in comparison to Lesnar vs. Taker.
>>19478858>There's just a constant sense of "this is all one big joke that we're all in on".Exactly.
>>19478560Yep, that's usually how they go
>>19479381but stupid how? he was going to lose either way, and it had to be sub because it's what Gunther was talking about. Cena is never give up, but he went heel during this last run so giving up isn't outside the realm of possibility
