>Sting goes out in victory. >Cena goes out putting someone over. What determines which is the correct call? Is it just case-by-case thing? And if it is, what's the right call for Tanahashi?
>>19479311Cena losing wasn't the problem, it's him tapping out. If he passed out instead you could at least say he went out never betraying that and that he never gave up, instead the guy got humiliated
>>19479311Tanahashi is getting a shitty final opponent. I feel sorry for him
>>19479342nigga u worked af LMAO
>>19479342Many are saying this
>>19479311Its case by case basis probably. In this case it felt like Cena should have won.
>>19479311>retirement match is against another veteran You may win the match >retirement match is against an up-and-comerYou shall pass the torch
>>19479311You should job in 99% of cases. The real problem is having the right guy and the right storyline for the match.
>>19479371One more match
>>19479311There really is no "right call" for Tanahashi but it's better logistically for Tana goes over as the main event since both that and the other big match are occupied by AEW
>>19479362But dude that literally is John Cena's gimmick. It wouldnt even be the first time they did it. He did a "I quit" match way back in the day and was in a chock-hold too and he chose to pass out. Its not being work its just enshittification at play
>>19479311Sting SHOULD have gone out winning (purely because his opposition was the young cucks who are WOAT-tier and dimeless)Cena should have gone out winning too the execution was just awful>>19479350'fraid so
>>19479311They should’ve done what Japan does and do a big tag team match with his friends like Punk and Cody and Orton vs Gunter and his boys
It's case by case. Sting winning was meant to be a feel good win to let him go out on a positive note since fans felt Sting got mistreated by WWE. Tana beating Okada would give a similar vibe but more than likely Okada will win to further the story with Takeshita and NJPW fans will pop a blood vessel.
>>19479311Angle got Baron Corbin and Corbin doesn't even wrestle at the WWE anymore
>>19479311The one that doesn't get nuclear heat, retard
Remember when WWE had Kurt Angle put over Baron Corbin for his last ever match, and then they fired Corbin a few years later.
>>19479432He went on his own terms. That's why he limply tapped with a smile. He didn't give up.
>>19479311Sting wrestling the Young Cucks was an incorrect call because it killed his whole retirement. Cena putting over Gunther is debatable. If Paul wants to be a heel then it was the correct call. If not, then it was a bad idea. But considering Paul's gleeful smile while he was getting booed this is probably exactly what he wants.
>>19479342Never Give Up Guy ending his career by Giving Up sounds pretty appropriate to me, I dunno. Maybe the problem is that in modern wrestling submitting is seen as humiliating, when it really shouldn't be.
>>19479463>>19479494and that's the issue if they had a young dimes heel upper-midcarder, it might be worth giving him the Cena rub and letting him smugly brag about that to boost him upbut WWE likes to give these big rubs to guys like Gunther, Corbin, Brock who then turn around and do absolutely nothing with it to help their careers
Going out putting someone over made sense in an era where wins and losses seemed to matter, and "he beat [other guy]!" was something that might legitimately get someone over. Now wrestling is so fake on its face that it just doesn't register, so you might as well win and ride off into the sunset and have a youtube moment. Do you really think "he beat John Cena!" is going to cause Gunther to start selling tickets?
>>19479463>>19479494And that wasn't even like 2016 skullet Baron Corbin where you could kinda see something if you squinted. This was post-MitB, post-Cena burial, post-haircut, post-Applebees manager Corbin who had gotten blamed on screen for the ratings falling and buried by every single McMahon. What a decision.
