There was a real shift in booking philosophy between early compact NXT when Zayn and Neville and Bo Dallas were leading the charge, and the later stuff where it was all about ''le hottest free agent'' getting a title run after one month in and bs like that. And truth be told, I think I hated the Gargano/Cole stuff more than anything that's ever been brought by AEW, and that's saying something.
