learn some reading comprehension you ding dong diddly dingus. the issue is shelling out way too many dollars for something you should have been able to get for free or at least for less had people not enabled the business model of re-releasing a game with a bunch of minor bug fixes and textures enhancements that you could have already gotten with a mod. yeah it's great that people are playing system shock 2 or whatever, but it's not great for the state of the landscape at large because it's encouraging the publishers (not the devs primarily) to keep cashing in on nostalgia factors and whatnot instead of trying to come up with something new and interesting, they're not kept on their toes. just like in movies.
rescuing abandonware that wasn't working on modern devices at all is a different story (for example, see Drowned God, the point and click game)

I'm so fucking sick of seeing this game everywhere. I played it up to Chapter 3, and I'm convinced people praising this have never played a JRPG before. The characters are nothing, the visuals are hideous (love the insane pop-in) and the combat is just Paper Mario mixed with obnoxious Soulsbourne trial and error enemy combos. Even the much ballyhooed 'muh grief' story was done far better in Xenoblade 3.

It has an occurred me to me I don’t play video games like other people. I play narrative driven indie games, from software “souls” games, and like 1 UFC match a day. And if there isn’t a new souls game I’m emulating a game from the PS2 or before. I really don’t get how people sink so much time into online games, there’s no artistry there.
