didn't they sell thousands more tickets for a random Dynamite in the UK?

Can't believe the women's title went from the second top belt to a thrown together feud and champ in just a few months
>>
>>19555677
Well yeah they're in the UK like twice a year. They've been in Chicago literally 5 times this year.
>>
>>19555678
Nah anything less than 10k for a PPV aint worth bringing up in pendulum discussions
>>
>>19555253

Wow they might make a nearly $800,000 gate for one of their biggest PPVs of the year in one of the largest metro areas in the US. Good for them.

It's literally losing momentum.
>>
>>19556272
I love how the deranged AEW fan hasn't realized that Chicago fans are essentially worthless and good ticket sales there are like selling well in Wembley or some other 3rd world hellscape.

In the dying days of wcw they would still do huge numbers in Chicago. 8k for a ppv is trash.

edrones moving the goalposts like a failed democrat candidate
>>
>>19556351
It’s not really 8000 anyway. Tiny Con lies about the ticket sales for every show. Texas got upset with him and they re-arranged their whole deal about Small-In because of it. At the Taco Bell residencies, Tiny Con said they were doing about 1000 tickets, but you could count the people and it was less than 300.
>>
I'm considering watching this tomorrow but if MJF wins the title Tony can get fucked.
>>
>>19555253
Not bad for a B-tier PPV like World's End, but Chicago used to be the place they could reliably sell out for PPVs, they really exhausted that market sadly
>>
>>19558935
This is the last AEW PPV until March, it's far from B-Tier. They just don't have any hype for any champions or storylines.

WWE's split squad Holiday house show tomorrow has a good chance of selling more tickets than AEW's PPV
>>
>>19558962
They have not cared one iota about World's End for three years in a row now. Last year's main event was also a boring four way.
>>
>>19559019
cheapest ticket $39 still thousands of tickets available yikes…
>>
>>19559061
The main event is 4 out of 6 of the top (healthy) draws in the company, 2/3 top heels, 2/3 top faces, missing Moxley/Omega
1st time 1v1 Okada/Takeshita
5 title matches plus 2 CC semifinals
Only filler match is Kidd vs Darby (a top merch seller)

This is the most effort they've put into a PPV all year
>>
>>19555253
>World ends in Chicago

Holy BASED
>>
>>19559200
I'm looking forward to the actual matches, but it's not a good sign when the match with the most heat and build is an undercard tournament semi-final between two guys who should be (in kayfabe) far more concerned with their NJPW matches in front of a 5x larger crowd next week
>>
>>19559222
I guess it all depends on the story they want to tell. Okada is a dual champion, losing 1 title isn't the end of the world for him.

- If Okada wins the CC, then retires Naito, he'll look like the unbeatable conqueror on the path to a World Title reign. If Takeshita loses and also loses at WK, his story will be that Okada shook his confidence and he's on a downward spiral, possibly leading to a face turn.

- Okada loses CC, but retires Naito, then that lines up a rematch for the early spring and potential Okada-Take III match for Forbidden Door in June. And Okada would still have International title so it's not like he walks away empty handed.

Lots of scenarios. It's a really big opportunity for AEW to end the year strong and set up compelling TV for the next 10 weeks until the next PPV in mid-March, with only (so far) Grand Slam Australia at around the halfway point.

>It's a really big opportunity for AEW to end the year strong and set up compelling TV for the next 10 weeks until the next PPV in mid-March
LOL. AEWtists don't live in reality.
>>
>>19555253
I'm really surprised they even got over 5000. Motherfuckers, you had one month residency in the area, don't ya think you've sucking all the lose cash and goodwill dry from that local market?

I agree. I'm hesitant to be too optimistic though. I'd wait to see how many people actually show up and fill those seats out. Because 'distributed' doesn't always equal 'attended'
