I remember for a stretch Dean was cutting promos where his kayfabe complaints about AEW mimicked those that the “bad faith online grifters” also said about the company, the idea being that when a face finally took them down it would give the fans catharsis as if the company itself had prevailed over those grifters. But then it turned out that most AEW fans actually agreed with him on the weaknesses of the company.
