Why did he kill TNA? It was the greatest wrestling show since the 90s before he joined.
>>19595061because he could, and physically, there was nothing you could do about it.
>>19595061This isn't the same discussion as "who killed WCW?" because TNA technically never died
>>19595072It took 15 years and a deal with WWE to recover from the damage the Chudster did.
>>19595086The brand declined after 2013 yes but it never officially went out of business which means it was never officially "killed" like WCW was.
>>19595167Do you have any theories as to why Hulk had to go there and completely shit all over the great programming they had been putting on for the past few years?
>>195951781. Hogan was coming off a bad divorce and needed money. Himself and Bischoff were a couple of sharks who found a themselves a money mark.2. I dunno what to tell you but the momentum TNA built by 2006 hadn't grown much in the three years after, despite putting on a better show than Raw or Smackdown at the time. TV ratings for Impact were similar to WWE's failed ECW C-brand and PPV buys consistently underperformed. From TNA's perspective they thought a proven draw like Hogan would be the answer to start growing again like what happened with WCW.
>Hogan makes his triumphant comeback to live TV>he gets outdrawn in a direct H2H by Vladimir KozlovAbsolute humiliation ritual
>>19595061him bringing in the nasty boys to fight the dudleys was peak tna for me. brian knobbs literally laid on the mat dry heaving red as a dog dick while saggs gasped for air and tried to battle with dvon or some shit, at some point jimmy hart hit them with his gimmick motorcycle helmet (wtf) and they waddled off like two obese penguins
>>19595239I know we openly laughed at it because we know that pro-wrestling is a joke, but imagine what some teenager who bought into the myth of TNA being the future circa 05-06 would've thought when that shit went down KEK
>>19595225>>19595214>>19595239has there ever been a proper retrospective of this time period in wrestling? thinking like OSW/Deadlock but hopefully more digestable than a four hour video essay. Just audio would be ideal.
