I just watched the intro of this movie and here are my thoughts:
They DID have women wrestling in 1981.
Wrestling as a form of entertainment or a martial art or whatever has not advanced since 1981 it's just the same old shit moves over and over, run the rope, slap in the corner, ref didn't see.
Even people who paid to watch this back in 1981 knew it was fake and were "smarks" in fact they feature the woman yelling at them that she's not actually choking her.
They really have been having "surprise" run-ons where the tag team turns into a brawl for fifty years now.
This random match for a movie is really about the average quality of any match men or women, tag or singles, on any given wrestling broadcast. One could even say this is what all wrestling looks like to non wrestling fans.
