What are some of the biggest developmental flops in wrestling?

>Sean Morley (Val Venis) was the youngest CMLL champion in history and WWF management saw him as a future main eventer because he was 6'3" and could move like a cruiserweight
>>
>>19636067
they literally just needed to make him an anti-hero rule breaking bad ass amongst all the others (Austin, DX, The Rock) and he'd be a legend. Instead they made him a mid carder with a porn star gimmick. Grim.

Still got over as fuck and is fondly remembered, that's not a flop
>>
>>19636067
You could make an entire thread just about OVW failures and Cornette's delusions but he thought one of these fucks was a future world champion

Matt Morgan was another one Cornette thought was a 100% guaranteed future Wrestlemania headliner.

Basil Bozinis was meant to be part of the OVW dream class and was seen as a bigger prospect than John Cena but he failed a drug test on the day he was meant to sign WWE papers proper. Then he ODd 18 months later.

dimeless face

Kino look. What kind of mentally ill negro-loving sex pest faggot would look at that and go "hmm let's remove the mask and make him wear a towel like the niggers in my fantasies".
>>

Gable Stevenson, total waste of time for everyone involved including poor Kurt Angle. Years in development, not a single good segment or match, couldn't get fit, dragged to main shows trying to get people get excited for a charisma vacuum Olympic medalist.
At least he got Corbin over for his best run in WWE, but that was more of an happy accident.
>>
>>19636169
For about a year and a half, he was employed for 10 years and spent most of those years doing lower card matches on Velocity. That's quite a fall from a guy that was one of WWE's first developmental guys because they thought he could be a world champion

Kevin Fertig/Kevin Thorn was hired by WWF in 1999 in their Memphis based territory MCW and was under contract until 2009 in FCW

You can't find a guy that they wasted more time on to accomplish absolutely nothing than this guy

Who was the guy Pritchard told to shave bald for a one night gig while was OVW champ or booked to be one like next week?
>>
>>19636284
I think that's more of a Vince Russo call. He hated all traditional wrestling
>>
>>19636221
And they could have been. People like Jinder Mahal and David Arquette are former world champions. There is no real delineation. Lite4ally ANYONE can be if 5hey're booked to be. It helps to be booked well. It helps to have a hook of some kind. Did either Basham have anything worth spending time on them? No idea. I didn't see enough of them. Point being...

Stop acting obtuse. As in a star, a permanent fixture of the upper midcard or main event
>>
>>19636067
"The next Chris Benoit" Brent Albright, another Coenette project. Got called up, Fit Finlay didn't like him and he got sent back down to OVW and fired

His brother is the Michaels

I don't know what the hell they were thinking with this dimeless nignog that doesn't look like he has any thoughts in his head but he was on TV for years on and off and he never amounted to shit

Maybe it was a case of Brits overinflating everyone of their own, but I feel like I remember reading positive things about Steve Lewington/DJ Gabriel when he was coming up. That was a big swing and a miss.
And now you remember valet era Alicia Fox.
>>
>>19636654
Pretty sure that was Matt Morgan
>>
>>19636654
It was one of the Basham's and it wasnt his beard it was his hair.

If you listen to Cornette talk about it he'll say the guy had beautiful flowing blonde locks like a star from the 80's. In reality the guys hairline had receded almost half way up his skull and Pritchard or Jonny Ace told him to get rid of that shit.

It's weird he, afka Damon Kemp , Bobby Steveson vanished for year and just last November has had two matches in Oklahoma apparently. Really thought he was a solid foundation for a professional wrestler. Decent voice for promos, looked natural acting on segments. Everything they tried to dig out of Gable was in Bobby already, imo
>>
>>19637116
Looked tiny in a WWE ring and fucking gigantic in Ring of Honor.

Had that one good match with Morishima though.
>>
>>19637440
Well yeah, hence the Benoit comparisons. WWE actually had him train for months to wrestle exactly like Chris but then Fit had a match with him and was like "this kid isn't ready" and they nixed the whole Benoit protoge storyline
>>
Literally anyone can be a main eventer if you have the machine behind you.

See John Cena or Roman Reigns.

Just depends if Vince jerks off to you or not.
>>
>>19637314
You don't shave your beard bald my friend, it's 'shaving clean', so the bald is implying hair, at least that's how I was taught. but anyway, besides that, thanks for info, it's appropriated, I'll search info on him later

I misread your post desu

the BBC sissy McMahon ruined many wrestlers
