>Good music is the worst thing to happen to music
>>19644527What you trying to slide now Hogwheels?
>>19644527wrestling isn't really as wide and varied as music is. this is a dumb comparison.
>>19644554Hey at least they didn’t compare it to a restaurant this time
He seethed over threads being posted.
>>19644554it makes sense once you translate "good matches" as pointless flippyslop that will be forgotten about as soon as they end. the equivalent of "5 star bangers" in music would be babyshark
>>19644557I'm still waiting someone to figure out 5 star matches are the inverse of 5 star NCAP ratings
>>19644527>A decaying tooth that's nerve has died is good actuallythis is what e-drones believe
>>19644527If he's talking about the rating scale itself being a problem he's right, people shouldn't be trying to satisfy Dave Meltzer alone
None of you epigs hate "five-star matches". You would be falling over yourself in delight if Meltzer gave you five-star ratings. You hate the very concept of criticism because you want to mindlessly consume your slop in the trough like the good little piggy you are.
>>19644601e-drones thought jericho returned to wwe cause meltzer reported on it
>>19644527Nah more like>what Anthony Fantano says is good music is the only good music and what he doesn't like is shit
>>19644616Meltzer just sucks>>19644630Exactly
>>19644630>>19644646if you're listening to meltzer thats your fault
>>19644527what's considered good music and what is not isn't rated by a singular autistic boomer tho..

>>19644527>Wrestling isn't the most important thing is wrestling
>>19644681>>19644653
>>19644695>Wrestling isn't the most important thing is wrestling>is wrestlingAnon uploading selfies kek
>>19644695The actual physical act of wrestling is arguably the least important part of the business of pro wrestling. don't be a mark.
>>19644743so why do wrestlers train to work in the ring?
>>19644758least important not unimportant
>>19644695wrestling is the most important part but it’s not the only part
>>19644758Because they're marks too. The only thing that matters is the envelope full of cash at the end of the night
>>19644616That pork.People do not have to agree with his specific ratings, but there are obviously degrees of quality in wrestling. From what I have seen, most e-drones just use WWE as a "girlfriend simulator" and get embarrassed when you point out they are watching total dogshit.
>>19644787it's the difference between a top sirloin steak cooked at home vs at a restaurant. Restaurant will know how to tenderize, season it just right, cooking time, appropriate cookware, etc, but at home, most people will just plop it in a nonstick pan and add some generic seasoning mix.AEW has many of the best wrestling performers in the world today, but the matches don't have the right seasoning and the shows don't have the right ambience to do them justice.
>>19644527That’s like saying Anthony Fantano is the sole decider of what is good music
>>19644803Gordon Ramsay will cook a $2 steak better than most people can cook a ribeye at home. Give the man top sirloin or tri-tip and it REALLY won't be close. The fact trannies like you still don't get it after all these years speaks volumes.
>>19644527considering that at this point like 95%+ of so called '5 star matches' are forgettable flippy bullshit with no significance within their promotion and are forgotten about within a week or two, the guy isn't wrong. Then again consider Dave gave Andre vs Hogan at Mania 3 negatvie 5 stars and you can see the sort of autism you're dealing with when even considering the topic.
>>19644743That's not the only thing they learn though. First thing they tell you in wrestling class is that the #1 point of "learning to work" is to get the audience emotionally invested above all else
>>19644714THIS THAT A SPELLING ERROR I SEE HAHAHA SAR SAR SAR YOURE BROWN SAR EVERYTHING YOU POSTED IS DISREGARDED
>>19644839What are you even trying to say? WWE gives people a cow patty and tells them it is filet mignon lol. The one thing they could actually do better than other promotions, because they have the resources, would be stuff filmed outside the arena but they almost never do that anymore and on the rare occasion they do it is laughably bad like that Cody/Drew thing.
>>19644803>but there are obviously degrees of quality in wrestlingyeah and it's definitely not yummy 5 star matches tranny, it's being successful and popular like WWE
>>19644901and having actual Wrestlers people care about you know
>>19644901>I automatically think everything that makes more money and gets more views is goodNever living down the "drone" label
>>19644839Gordon Ramsay doesn't even know how to make a grilled cheese. I am not trusting a motherfucker that can't cook the most basic food in existence without burning it to cook any meat.
>>19644803>but there are obviously degrees of quality in wrestlingYeah and they have very little correlation to what meltzer likes because he's a tasteless pleb
>>19644616Meltzer gave Gargano like three 5* ratings, sure he would be higher on the card if it mattered so muchHe is jobbing in the US title scene every 2 weeks and nobody gives a fuck about him
>>19644927Imagine them trying to explain this logic to a coworker or a nice woman they just met
>>19644527The difference here being "good music" is usually a science while "good matches" is basically a senile old retard who doesn't actually understand wrestling's opinion
>>19644927>everything that is as niche as possible and unknown is automatically betteryou're so special
>>19644527If he's talking about meltzer's specific taste and pandering to it he's right, meltzer is a clueless dopamine fried retard who likes all style no substance shitshows
>>19644934I try to frame AEW as the best wrestlers in the world, and WWE only succeeding because they have the best machinery, but that still isn't enough dicksucking AEW to make AEW fan happyAnd you wonder why so many people cheer for AEW to fail
>>19644554>wrestling isn't really as wide and varied as music isIt kinda is>World of Sport>Lucha>Catch>Strong Style>ShootStyle>American Traditional (Southern)>TV Wrestling>Indie Style>Comedy>DeatchmatchMusic Genres>Rock>Hiphop>R&B>Jazz>Metal>Electronic >PopBetter than a food analogy
>>19644964Lmao>>19644965>and it's short bus people wwe successfulThis dude is shoot Indian what the fuck
>>19644527A Meltzer five snowflaker is the wrestling equivalent of some prog metal guy noodling incoherenly on his guitar. It might be technically impessive but there's no actual feeling to it so it's just empty, meaningless and self-indulgent nonsense that's a chore to get through. The Dream Theater of pro wrestling.
aew trannies are too stupid for five-star tv and movies and too fat and poor for five-star hotels and restaurants so wrestling rated by an unironic retard is all they have
>>19644952>as niche as possible and unknownThe equivalent of that would be some backyard fed that gets five views on Youtube
>>19644984afraid so
>>19644964normies love talking about their favorite wrestling style
you should like good wrestling btw everything i like is good everything you like is bad and my opinion is objectively true thanks
>>19644527It's a fishhook plotYou absolutely can objectively measure how shit a bad match is, but as the match quality improves evaluations have to be subjective.Take the Eddie vs JBL Judgement Day match. Was it a chain-wrestling/acrobatic athletic showcase? No. Was it full of character and had such a memorable "spot" (the chair shot) everyone knows the match? Yes. And it was such an impactful match that it got JBL the world title, which then set up Cena getting the world title and defining the next 15 years of wrestling. So you could still argue it's a 5* match based on criteria totally separate from why, say, Okada-Omega 2 was also 5*.
>>19644960No I only care about the Gordon Ramsay thing. His British ass offended me when he burnt the bread and had completely solid bricks of cheese mixed with kimchi as the interior.I think both Tony Khan and Triple H should get their heads out of their asses, because their cringe perspectives are damning the industry. One side is flipslop. The other is mammonslop. You get the midget or you get the brand deal with MTN Dew code black.Fuckers need some genuine opposition within their companies.
>>19644527>"5 star matches" is the worst thing to ever happen to this sportAbsolutely based and correct. Case in point: this "5 star match" right here.
>>19644616>None of you epigs hate "five-star matches". You would be falling over yourself in delight if Meltzer gave you five-star ratings. You hate the very concept of criticism because you want to mindlessly consume your slop in the trough like the good little piggy you are.
>>19644527what's good music to some isn't to others.next.
>>19644527The problem is that 5 star matches are rarely ever as good as Meltz claims they are. And anyone who parrots his opinions is a retard.
>>19644527this is like saying "good books are good" or "good movies are good". obviously a 5 star match is good, but if you consider a 5 star match to be meltzers definition of workrate or flippy shit or whatever, youre a retard. just like a movie isnt about the cinematography or how skillful the editing is, and a book isn't only about the prose and literary techniques. dave really thinks he can objectively "rate" matches, which is retarded
>>19644616Wrong. Meltzer is shit and has always been shit. He only cares about movez and doesn't even care when they look obviously cooperative. He's a total hack and it only looked like he knew what he was doing when the wrestling industry was dedicated to working matches that had at least the semblance of believability. But that's not the case any longer. Some guys still bother to try but most don't and all Dave gives a fuck about are movez and spots no matter cooperative they look.tl;dr - Dave Meltzer doesn't understand pro wrestling
>>19645204that plus part
>>196445275 star matches are more like math rock, existing for the sake of trying to be good instead of just existing
they cant answer this
>>19644527>okc fan is retardedshocking
5 stars matches are a measure of quality which is why WWE has so few of them.
>>196472865 star matches are decided by an austistic old man who was always a contrarian nerd who liked Jap shit. Only the fattest retards could give a shit what he thinks.
>>19644527Your statement is disingenuous because Meltz rating it 5 stars doesn't inherently make it good.
>>19644569Baby shark is insanely over and draws megadimes.
>>19647305With children who grow out of it by the time they are 5
>>19647286very true, it’s also why wwe fans seethe over meltzer
>>19647320Because he is an inconsistent overtly biased philistine shill who never worked a day in the business yet thinks he has the proper accumen to judge it?
>>19647297Now type that without crying
>>19645162Answer without sounding mentally ill: Who rated this five stars?
>>19647360Impossible, he knows he will never be an absolute chad like Prime Dave
>>19647425Probably Meltzer. It wouldn't be the first time. Just pick any 3 Bucks match in AEW with 5 stars or more and look at them. If you aren't sick of synchronized kicks after that you are set for AEW fandom and WON subscription for life.
>>19644964Why didn't King's Road make an appearance? Bababros...
>>19644803>That pork.kek
>>19647562It ain't the Bucks fault there's nobody in WWE capable of getting 5 stars
