The boring answer is that it depends. Not all reactions are equal and just cause the fans get behind someone doesn’t mean they are Mainevent ready. Hook got some of the loudest pops in AEW history but he really can’t work a singles match and is very small.

Sometimes a push can actually kill interest. People loved KENTA when the was going head to head with the heavyweights but lost interest when he started beating them. Same thing with Zach Ryder. Got great reactions getting cucked and crippled. But anytime he won a title it fizzled out.
