During a recent Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp was asked whether AEW had plans for another console release following Fight Forever. While AEW does own the engine that powered the game, Sapp revealed there’s no current follow-up in development—and there are a few key reasons for that.>“They have always held the engine rights. They own the engine of the game, but I have not heard of [another game in development],” Sapp said, before pointing to the massive financial commitment AEW already made.>“I know it was a gigantic investment for Tony Khan, and even with the gigantic investment, I know there were some budget issues for the creators.”>“They made the mistake of announcing that game super, super early. Investing into another Fight Forever would be a death sentence. If Tony needs to keep AEW Games busy they should just look for low cost mobile shit to run or try something goofy like a visual novel where you date Kenny Omega that might bait some Youtubers and Twitch streamers into playing it.
