He bought into the hype manufactured around him by people who don't actually watch or care about him. He was used as a pawn in the proxy war by shithead bad faith grifters who don't give a fuck about him. I feel bad for the guy for that reason. But he bought into his own hype.
He's an okay promo when he actually speaks in English though he's speaking in English less and less these days. He does suck in the ring though. He's got some really silly looking spots that aren't even athletic or anything.
He had a good thing going as a tag guy, but he just couldn't let it be. I'm all for being ambitious--guys who don't advocate for themselves end up like Stevie Richards--but you've gotta know your own ceiling.
He's just not a main eventer. He was a decent tag team guy and with the right story you could even give him a sympathetic babyface moment with a midcard title but you just can't build a promotion around him.
The tag team with Ortiz worked because they complimented one another and had what the other lacked.

He was in Jericho's stable so he had lots of tv time to himself before the roster bloated up completely. when covid hit they never recovered that mojo and by the time they went back on the road he was already all but gone.
