So Rossy went to the office and suggested they started making moves to appeal more towards the hardcore male wrestling otaku who had money which included more expensive video tape versions of events and yeah, sexy photobooks with the more attractive wrestlers. That drove off the women even more. Some of he old Crush fans came back for the big Crush Gals reunion angle in GAEA but only for that really.
By 92 pretty much all their stars were gone outside of bull Nakano so fans just left naturally. I’m sure when all the creepy work rate male marks started going to shows it became even less desirable, especially for parents dropping their daughters off at the matches.

Dave's whole "people looked at me weird for going because it was a girl's thing" is complete bullshit like almost everything else he's ever said about joshi. The teen girls were the bread and butter fanbase because of how fanatically into the Crush Gals (and Beauty Pair before them) they were and they were definitely louder but there were plenty of male fans too. The male fans got pushed to the forefront though because there wasn't really anybody for the teen girls to latch onto once Chigusa and Asuka retired.
