I think NXT Black and Gold was always a better show than Dynamite, and I don't understand why Dynamite won the war.
Black and Gold under Dusty > Dynamite, but by the time the war started people were starting to get tired of the Undisputed Era and Gargano all over the show.
>>19729186It was two cheeks from the same ass
>>19729203I just think the structure and vibe of NXT always made for a consistently better show than AEW, and I personally would never choose to watch Dynamite over NXT of frankly any era.
>>19729186Black and gold was a dingy sex dungeon of a wrestling show that wasn't very appealing once competition showed up
It was a much better show, just nobody from there was ever going to be a draw and nobody was really getting developed. They may have lost the ratings war but they actually did do what they were supposed to do. They forced AEW to counter program them. AEW gave away so much big stuff for free on TV each week that they ran out of gas when Punk left. They also got AEW to hire a bunch of people who they already knew weren't draws.
1: >>197292032: The mass firings when Rainbow NXT started. No one wants to see a whole roster of sports losers (and 1-2 winners) who can't talk or wrestle. You have to have at least one of those. Any B&G NXT fans still watching moved to AEW after this.
>>19729186It was show full of anti-dimes shitters.
>neverending dimeless Ciampa/Gargano feud where nothing happens and every promo is the same for years >neverending dimeless undisputed era where nothing happens and every promo is the same for years >the only homegrown star WWE produced this era that was over was Braun, who skipped NXT entirely no
>>19729897Gargano was kinoTUE was kinoBut NXT's entire success was from their stars having a 18 month career where they get a hype debut, skill up, win the world championship, then move on. It's constant dopamine for viewers. Gargano v Ciampa lasting forever was fine since it was the first time they did that. But then they didn't leave. They went into Gargano v Cole and even though that was good too, you could tell they were abandoning their winning formula. That caused the decline, and then Rainbow NXT killed them off for good.
