Going to copy my post from some other Marty thread that nobody is replying to: I'm hearing different things. Did Marty actually know the girl before seeing her at the bar? Some people called her a 'student', not sure if that means it was a student of his that he knew directly prior to all of this? Or if she was just someone else's student at some place he wasn't a trainer at? In which case there is no power dynamic at play if he didn't know her, and it's very believable that he'd think she was of age if they met at a bar.
