If this fucking dweeb wins at the Rumble he'll be a Grand Slam champion
>>
Wasn't there an alleged insider months ago who said Paul was dead set on Sami winning the belt this year?
>>
Subhanallah
>>
>>19754244
As he should and as he should be. I say this as a big McIntyre fan too
>>
Cry about it, bitch.
>>
>>19754291
Do you really need to be an insider? What use would it be spending the whole year with promos constantly bringing up how Sami has never been a world champion if the plan wasn't to make him a world champion?
>>
>>19754244
I stopped giving a shit about all these naming conventions when my boy Sheamus got constantly cock blocked from winning the ic champion
>>
>>19754244
Pauletty pushes people that he has some kind of personal connection to. It is reason #4768 that he is a shitty booker.
>>
>>19754244
How many times has the WWE title even changed at the Rumble?
Slaughter beat Warrior and................??????
>>
>>19754629
The Rock beat CM Punk for the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble
>>
>>19754629
Rock beat Punk to end his record-setting WWE title reign in 2013
Cena ended AJ Styles' first WWE Championship reign in 2016 to tie the record
Lashley beat Lesnar to become a 2-time WWE champion in 2022.
>>
>>19754244
>loses to Drew for the title
>enters the Rumble later in the night
>wins it
It's so obvious there isn't even a reason to watch
>>
Grand Slam is a small trophy anyway, WWE very very rarely acknowledges it or even uses it as a thing to achieve in storylines
>>
>>19754629
Cena beat Edge for the WWE title in 2006
>>
>>19754244
why can't that mexican shitter who crippled kit wilson's friend cripple sami? oldberg? giant gonzalaz? one of those gayew faggots? someone liberate us from sami and liberate sami from the use of his legs
>>
Remember when Sami was actually super over and they never put the title on him with the excuse being "guys just be patient, let us cook".

Can anyone explain how waiting all this time to finally put the title on him did anything good for either his career or WWE as a whole?
>>
We just all have to pretend he’s not the most over babyface or the decade cause you don’t like his religion?
>>
>>19755047
Exactly, I like him but it feels like it's way too late to put the title on him especially when sometimes crowds slightly boo him, they missed the mark in 2023
>>
>>19755096
Sami will never be as over as he was coming off him betraying the Bloodline and hitting Roman with a chair. It was an electric moment, one of the few times since the Attitude Era that they actually put together characters and storylines that people cared about. And of course they squandered it instead of just pulling the trigger on Sami and making him the top baby face like the crowd wanted.

A lot of people blamed the lack of new stars on Vince but even with Vince gone they refuse to make any new ones. Look at what they've been doing and are currently doing to LA Knight.

>>19755190
WWE does not care. They just see that Sami is Muslim and they have been ramping up business with a Muslim country. That is it. The WWE will put a title on someone because that person will be at an event so they want the person to walk around with a giant WWE symbol over their shoulder. That is how retarded and arbitrary their booking is. Its not about putting on the best show (because they do not have the ability to do that) but about chasing clout.

I now remember bobbo
>>
>>19755241
Yep, they are sucking Arab dick. But he'll win in Saudi for same reason. Wwe are Where's. Tko makes it so.
>>
>>19755284
Bobbo is in tag team purgatory in Jacksonville
>>
>>19754719
Either of the guys in the title match also being in the Rumble only makes any kind of kayfabe sense if they literally steal a spot in the Rumble from someone else, which is a heel thing to do.

The audience will just handwave this and go with it if it's a star who's so over that they just don't question it, but Sami Zayn in 2026 is not that guy.
>>
>>19754315
This. Obviously.

I also think HHH knows that Sami’s run should be real short.

I can’t imagine the plan is to have Sami Zayn defending, fighting for, or winning a belt at Wrestlemania. God help us if so, lol.

They’ll probably let him beat Drew at the Rumble tho. No reason not to. Drew’s motivation (recently) has mostly been about beating Cody because he’s a sniveling corporate whatever. Now that Drew has accomplished that, he really doesn’t need the belt. The belt was just symbolic of “taking something Cody loves.” This stage of his career, Drew’s character works better as a bitter angry weasel who feels overlooked and whines with grievances. I’m glad they booked him to finally take the belt off Cody, but it doesn’t have legs. Plus, Drew isn’t great on the mic.

If they really wanted to do a featured run with Drew in the top spot, they would’ve had Orton win that 4-way last night and then tried to make something of a Drew/Orton feud. There’s a scenario where that could’ve been dimes for a few months, even through Wrestlemania.

Having Sami win tells me they’re gonna play hot potato with the belt for awhile.

I still think the WM main events will be something unusual and wild. WWE sometimes thinks they’re clever by telling you exactly what they’re going to do knowing you’ll just chalk it up as hype speak and not take it literally. But with all the WM Vegas promos about “this time, it’s anyone’s game,” don’t be shocked if they book something ultra gimmicky like a fucking 8-man Battle Royal for both titles or something.

>>19756931
my guess is cody and fatu will do something to get them suspended the night of the rumble and then sami will get the invite
>>
lets just hope his title run ends like kofi kingston
>>
>>19757514
the main event will be fatu vs cody. roman will show up to protect fatu from a heel turn cody when he teams up with the rock, leading to rock roman in saudi
>>
>>19754244
I’ll never watch WWE again
>>
>Sami loses the title match at Saudi Rumble
>Wins the Rumble or Chamber next year
>Walks into Saudimania and wins the belt
>>
>>19754244
Only time Sami winning made any sense was in Elimination Chamber vs Roman, that was a huge missed opportunity
>Tribal chief defeated by a geek
A giga over geek who became the focal point of the entire storyline
>>
>>19754814
Who has it besides Miz and Cena?
>>
>>19757711
I mean, they COULD do a long term underdog story with Sami (loses next week, then builds for another 15 months to the payoff), but I don’t think the dimes are there for that.

Sami’s run is a Kofi/Bryan-esque feel good run, but not a multi-year “finish your story” drama. There’s too many other big dicks in the circle to spend a year jerking Sami.

Cody doesn’t have the belt. Drew isn’t a long term champ. Roman will be back. Fatu just came back. Things are about to start picking up.

HHH probably realizes that and sees a little slow window right now to do Sami a solid before the A-plots get going in full force.

Makes the most sense to have Fatupac take the belt from Sami before Mania, then if you wanted, you could do the Cody v Fatu match they seem to be setting up. Only pause that gives me, though, is whether they think Jacob is ready to draw dimes for a WM Main Event title match. But it’s Mania, so I guess the crowd is built-in at this point, regardless of the card.
