How do I get into Joshi? I don't speak Nihonese. I've watched a couple of shows with English commentary and a little ChocoPro but what's the easiest and best way to follow the products?

It's the most popular wrestling company in Japan by far and the one everyone is talking about when people bring up "good matches."TJPW is a bit closer to what a lot of people around here when they think of "joshi" wrestling. Cute girls who are focused on doing fun stuff over realistic wrestling. That's not to knock it, some people really enjoy it, but you'll bounce off of it if that's not what you're looking for (I usually do). It has some decent wrestlers but action really isn't the emphasis.Marigold is kind of a special circumstance. It's newer and most of its roster isn't nearly as experienced as either of the other two. Despite this, the gals are cute and they do try to go hard... but are not always good at it. It has two of the best joshis in the business (Mayu Iwatani and Utami Hayashishita) at the top. I really recommend it if you're interested in seeing a company being largely built from scratch grow - it's not there yet but it gets better every year and I think in a few years it will be quite strong.

Usually as a rule you don't always know *exactly* what's going on but it really doesn't detract from the experience. You can figure out a lot by looking stuff up that interests you online and following wrestlers' social media accounts.But a lot of it isn't too complicated anyway. It usually boils down to Wrestler A wants Wrestler B's belt or Wrestler X has an axe to grind against Wrestler Y or Wrestler M insists she's cuter than Wrestler N who's been calling herself the cutest in the world for nearly a decade now and shouldn't even be in this company because she's from the competition and her singing sucks anyway. Not too hard to figure out.

I've watched bits of other shows like Chocopro, AWG, Sendai girls, and a few others.I find Wrestle Universe to be the best deal for like $8 you can pick from like 11 different promotions to watch.
