it's sort of weird in retrospect but I think it's quite a bit more innocuous than the real time grooming that happens online today I'm sure some of the kids got weird/inappropriate letters but I'd imagine overall that wasn't the case desu. Granted putting your real/face address out in public like that is kind of weird.
