>retires one month before the road to Wrestlemania on a dimeless YouTube/peacock exclusive web stream even though wrestling is scripted and he could've just ended his career at the last Wrestlemania in the US a few months later
why?
>>
Because he didn’t want his retirement to overshadow Wrestlemania

Is that even a big deal? Micheals vs Undertaker 2 is one of the greatest Wrestlemania matches of all time. Who cares if it overshadows the main event?

I agree with you. I’m just trying to explain what I think Hunter and Cena were thinking.
>>
he didn't want to continue wrestling into 2026, he wanted one calendar year and that was it. he's talked about how even doing the you can't see me taunt causes him to have severe shooting pain these days
>>
>>19852994
Was he really that banged up even though he started working part tome?
>>
>>19853061
he worked like 2500 house shows or some shit
>>

Phil taking 7 years off was a pretty wise decision. Now he’s the same age as John yet he can still go. John really sawdusted himself and we all love him for it.

John Cena retired in December for tax reasons. It's the same reason why Conor McGregor would fight at the end of the year and then disappear for like eight months. Everything in WWE is about DA MONAY after the TKO acquisition.

Punk might be a whiney insufferable bitch but at least when he came back he did it full time. Bork and Tribal Chief killed the show with their part time champion bullshit.

Cena is the only acceptable part timer. He worked an insane schedule for 15 years, left to give the new generation a chance to shine, and came back to put them over even with his endless ventures outside of WWE.

Bork and Queef have nothing going on outside WWE. They worked full time for a few years at best. They failed to put anybody over. They're just lazy entitled bitches who carnied Vince McMahon into thinking they were stars even as ratings plummeted with them on top burying everyone else when they bothered to show up to work.

He wanted his last show to be in Boston. TKO pulled a bait-and-switch after he signed the contract to move it to DC so they could squeeze more money out of it with some luxury package bullshit. Rather than risk a (((legal battle))) where he got fucked over even more he just decided to finish his contracted dates and wash his hands of the scumbag company.

That geriatric attitude "steal the show" self congratulatory circle jerk bullshit contributed to the absolute state of the current product.

Roman worked the full house show circuit from 2012-2019. Less than Cena but still a lot. Brock barely did a full year in 2002/3 and back then they had less shows.
>>

>Cena is the only acceptable part timer
Taker too. Towards the end of his career ye was also doing part time. But yeah to your point, Brock and Roman were unacceptable as part timers. I mean, you could give Roman as little leeway because he had cancer.

The boring reason is his in ring contract was probably up and they wanted him on a Legends deal from January onwards.
