I seriously don't get it. What was there to ever like about this guy? Boring 40 minute repetitive promos that can cure chronic insomnia. The only one I ever enjoyed was the Nation parody and even more boring matches. 8 out of 10 for look though.
>>19856169He was never that popular back in the day, I never once saw anyone wearing a triple H shirt, you'd see rock and Austin and NWO shirts all the time and the occasional taker and mankind and even the odd midcarders shirt but triple H was never very popular WWE have just worked really hard to convince the modern audience that he was
>>19856169he OWNS the SMARKS dude
He was around Austin and rock
>>19856191This shirt was iconic
>>19856169>What was there to ever like about this guy?Nothing. He literally slept his way to the top. First by blowing Shawn, then by blowing Steph.
>>19856169Him chasing after Lilian Garcia was kind of funny
>>19856194yeah, carrying their jock straps>>19856201>trying too hard: the shirt
>>19856169He's the living embodiment of a talentless tryhard.Michaels, Austin, Rock, Foley had natural talent and charisma he never did. So he just schemed and politicked and outlasted everyone like a cockroach. Now he buries whoever he catches a whiff of talent from with that giant nose of his and only pushes fellow talentless tryhards.
>>19856221promo's good
He was a very good, medium, mediocre wrestler. He never blew me away with anything that he’s ever done. He’s never come up with much. He’s always been a very decent wrestler that could give you a good match. As far as being like mind blowing…I never saw it. I’ve still never seen it. I’ve seen him in some matches and the whole “4 Out Of 10” thing came out of his match with Lesnar. Which should have been such a good match. It was a mediocre match, if that. That’s where the “4 Out Of 10” comes from. He’s always a guy that will give you a “5 Out Of 10” match every night. He’s going to give you all he can give you and that’s just my opinion. Vince could make him 35 time World Champion and it doesn’t mean he’s 35 times better than everyone else that ever wrestled. He’s just not.Everything Bret said was correct.
>>19856227I keep searching for a lie but I just can't find one
He's the guy who works with the guy that draws the money.
>>19856251He's the guy who works with the guy who fucks his fat, ugly wife.
>>19856255Stephanie isn't fat
>>19856257Did you just wake up from a 10 year coma? Bro, I got some crazy news: Trump won the presidency, twice, non-consecutively.
>>198562616 year
>>19856291Oh. Well, he won again.
>>19856227U must skip uh the entrances then uh man, because that is The Moment that the match is simply there to facilitate to happen. just wait, you'll see. hhh is really uh cool, he is the best Performance Artist that delivers The Memories in the theatre of emotion the audience comes for. so when he heel books himself to win and play his friend lemy twice, that is Storytelling only an alltime great could craft. seriously I work til my heart is about to explode for hhh and the shows plural he is ons' success. appreciate getting to sit back and consume the show
>>19856169No one liked him. Ratings tanked until kids tuned in for Cena. Brand split so he could be gifted his own Ric Flair belt. Raw mogged by Smackdown. No aura. God, those promos. If his HOF speech over yet? Loves to rewrite history, though.
He's a perfectly cromulent B+ player. Good presentation, can talk, can be carried to a good gimmick match. He was just always overpushed.
>>19856201I have never seen that shirt before in my life, although it does prove what a smarky meta dipshit triple H was
>>19856227
This was everyone's reaction after WM 2000
>>19856293bigly of courseno other kind of winning for the don
>>19856201Was it iconic for how dogshit it is? I don't know why it exists at all. Imagine if Stone Cold came out with a shirt at the time saying "Here's why you should care about me" and it's just a list of TV ratings.
>>19856201It looks like something you see at a flea market
>>19856169Every promo he ever cut on Daniel Bryan was secretly about him and he knows it.
>>19856622Kek yeah he also won the ultimate sin and will be hung like the faggot he is and burn in the deepest pits of hell for all eternity
>>19856794seething tranny mutt leftie faggot
>>19856801We don't sign our posts here pal. Get back to drinking your onions.
>>19856169you won't believe this, but he was the workrate guy back then. like zsj, backland & bret. best technical wrestler. he wasn't a promo guy or the spotmonkey. casuals hated him because he wasn't cool like the rock or austin. marks loved rvd & jeff hardy and hated hhh. smarks loved hhh the way they loved danielson years later. tastes changed, but back then, hhh was the guy iwc championed. the guy that could have a great match with anybody. he couldn't promo and had average personality, but he could work a match & a crowd for 60 minutes 300 nights a year. he never claimed to be the king, he merely accepted it.
>>19856818>hhh was the guy iwc championedNo he wasn't, more faggy revisionist history
>>19856201this isn't real. you made it up just for this post
>>19856169Every negative thing people have said about him is true. At the same time you cannot really blame him for taking all of the pushes and positions his father-in-law gave him. Ultimately Vince is the one you have to blame for HHH being so ubiquitous and for WWE being creatively worse off than when he was there.
>>19856857He was until 2000-2001. Around 2003-2005 they turned on him
>>19856857IWC loved Paul in 2000-2001 and hated Rock and Taker and thought Austin was stale 90’s shit.
>>19856191This.
>>19856169He's literally just proof that if you show up every day and work hard all you need to do is wait for more talented people to quit or burn-out and you will make it to the top of your career.
>>19857195>>19857344This. When cripple H tore his quad, it gave him clout with internet smarks.
>>19856191You could say the exact same thing about Gunther today. Which could explain why HHH insists on pushing Gunther the way he is. He sees Gunther as a modern HHH.
>>19857344>loved triple h >hated based Rocky and Austin So the internet was always gay?
>>19857371Brother, the internet was born gay.
>>19857344Nah bullshit, no one ever gave a fuck about hunter, he wasn't seen as the "workrate guy" not when there was fucking angle, Benoit, Hart, Michaels and like another dozen who were far better workrate guys, triple gay was slow and boring and the only memorable matches he had were when he was completely carried by his opponent
>>198561692002 was the year I got into wrestling, watching his return at MSG made him look like the biggest deal in the world, then I went the entire year wanting him to lose. A generational shitter in and out of the ring.
>>19857382They wanted him to come back and save the main event scene when he was injured in 2001. Smarks voted him wrestler of the year or some shit in Dave’s observers. They loved him until he got exposed for being shit in 2002.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UBfxm82M6uo&pp=ygUbdHJpcGxlIGggZXJpYyBiaXNjaG9mZiAyMDAyThis was the moment everyone in the world turned on Triple Nose. The mass exodus started here. Raw was still doing okay post attitude era. Ratings plummeted to pre 98 levels after this.
>>19857356This, longevity is by far the most important thing in wrestling. Taker is another case of this.Or fucking Michael Cole being called the GOAT at the mic despite being the blandest commentator ever
>>19856201This shirt was cringe smark bullshit.
>>19857440>longevity is by far the most important thing in wrestling. It shoot is, though. In a business of telling stories, you need material. And the “type” of material that resonates best with audiences is character background and origin stories. It’s infinitely easier to do that with older veterans who have historical feuds and alliances to draw from.Case in point, we’re literally seeing it right now with Punk and Roman. The RAW promo Monday night was only powerful because they have a decade of history to reference. At the time, fans probably didn’t give many shits about Punk and The Shield, but now that it’s lore, it provides a bank of motivation that Punk, Roman, and Seth are all still drawing from. It also doesn’t really matter whether the feuds, alliances, and stories that happen early in a guy’s career are even all that GOOD. What matters is that they happen, and you add it to the experience bank for this character. A decade on, fans will (mis)remember those early years more fondly anyway and treat them as more character-building than they actually were. The longer you go, the more feuds you have, the more drama and storytelling variety you can tap into between ages 37-43 when most guys are established as gigadime main eventers. It’s hard to do that with young guys. People just don’t care enough yet. By the time he was leading the A-Block, HHH had several different storylines to draw from that made it make sense why he was in those main event spots. It didn’t really matter whether he was any “good,” lol.
>>19857344Triple H is unironically one of my all-time favorites. Call me a retard all you want. And this right here is true. I have never given a single, solitary shit about Rock, Austin or Taker. Those guys bored the shit out of me.

>>19856201Le WWF appealing to the message board dweebs in the big 99
>>19857536Hi Paul!
He ALWAYS latched himself on to actual talent until the point where he could attach himself to the McMahon's.
>>19856387B+ would imply he could step in and carry the product if the A players were away for whatever reason. Hunter carrying the product at any given time was never good. Hunter was a B- player at best. He needed A level players to hide his weakness as a bore.
>>19856169>he didn’t watch Triple GOAT single handedly win the Monday night wars by driving a literal tank to Nitro
>>19857536I didn't know you knew how to use 4chan, Paul.
>>19858283>>19858904Not Paul. If I was, I wouldn't waste my time here or at WWE. My tongue would never leave Stephanie. Like I said, he was one of my favorites, but I'm not blind to the criticisms. Dood's always been insecure as fuck.
>>19856169Triple H was a lot better than you're giving him credit for. He was great as a punching bag/obstacle for Austin, Rock, and Foley, he was instrumental in making DX dimes, and he was WWE's last genuinely hateable heel. But he was always a B+ guy and trying to turn WWE into the Triple H Show was a horrible mistake. He was the guy your top guys feuded with. He wasn't top guy material himself.
>>19856169Look at Gaytch's career>Jannetty to the Rock during 1996-2002>Jannetty to HBGay throughout 1996-97>Jannetty to Chyna during 1997-99>Jannetty to Kurt Angle in 2000, or should i say C.U.C.K. to Kurt>Jannetty to Quad injury in 2001>Jannetty to Hogan and Brock in 2002>Jannetty to Blade in Blade Trinity>Jannetty to Goldberg in 2003>Jannetty to Benoit in 2004>Jannetty to Batista in 2005>Jannetty to Cena in 2006>Jannetty to HBGay again throughout 2006-10>Jannetty to Undertaker during 2011-12>Jannetty to Brock in 2012-13>Jannetty to B+ player Bryan during 2013-14>Jannetty to The Shield in 2014>Jannetty to Stephanie during 2015-2018>Jannetty to Ronda and Kurt in 2018>Jannetty to Becky in 2019>Jannetty to Chinese Virus in 2020-21>Jannetty to Vince in 2022>Jannetty to TKO in 2023>Jannetty to Shawn Michaels' NXT as a booker>Jannetty to the Rock again in 2024KWAB
>>19856169>Boring 40 minute repetitive promos that can cure chronic insomnia. You literally described 95% of WWE programming. kek
>>19856169I admire his talent for politicking. Sure, he wasn't the guy, he didn't have the talent for it in any way, but he was found his way to the top. And bagged Stephanie along the way. Kudos to him.

>>19856169Of all the people who can thank Foley for solidifying or rejuvenating their career, Haitch is the only one who should be thanking Foley on his legs for making this man's career not once, but twice.First in 1997 when Foley solidified Haitch as a strong heel midcarder, then in 2000 when he solidified him as the top heel of the WWF.
>>19859166You ever think getting with Steph was also a curse? Like, you're fucking the boss' daughter. If you stop fucking her, you're basically out the company. It's a self destructive choice when you think about it. And now Steph's all old and bogged and still has fake tits and no hips, H is being embarassed as a booker and constantly trying to do his "cool unbothered guy" shtick when he gets clowned and exposed constantly.
Strangely enough he's more over than the supposed charismatic anti-draw HBGay that everyone here like.
>>19860303no the fuck he isn't

>>19859741>you ever think having a hot rich gf with big titties that can make your career dreams come true as long as you keep boning her could be a bad thingNo because I'm not a gayAnd Haitch can pick any random ring rat and shit on her like his father-in-law did if he gets tired of Steph - which I'm sure has happened more than once. It's slimy, just a step above being a kept boy, but it's definitely a way to win at life
>>19862177I would love for Vince to give his actual thoughts on Gaytch and rip him a new asshole

>>19860982No absolutely, Foley deserves a lot of credit for being the kingmaker for them>Dude Love was Stone Cold's first opponent during his first title run and helped give Austin an opponent who matched his new brawling style.>Mankind's feud during The Rock's first title run established Rocky as a main event star and gave him more heat entering WrestleMania 15; Mankind later helped solidify Rock as the next babyface of the company thanks to the Rock & Sock Connection>Foley carried Hunter into not one but two stellar feuds in 1997 and 2000
>>19856169One thing I'll give H, he was a funny motherfucker. He had good delivery with his jokes. He should have been a comedy guy.
>>19856191I had a triple h shirt but it was around 2008 or whenever there was nobody else around other than cena. I always felt weird wearing it I only bought it because there was nobody else cool at the time and triple h was at least cooler than cena. i think that describes his career pretty well. the default option who you only liked when he was against someone you really didnt like

>>19856227This is what some people took issue with? This is damn near a compliment coming from Bret, compared to what he's said about other wrestlersHe even says "He’s always been a very decent wrestler that could give you a good match"
I like when he barely wins a match and then plops on his stomach and looks pathetic and the theme song kicks in right away from its all about the game
>>19856169Great entrance music. Jacked AF. Entertaining. Great wirh match psychology. Worked a crowd. He was good for a long time. Never Great.
>>19856227Agreed. Legit feel like I’m constantly gaslit by fans and wrestlers alike into thinking this guy is one of the GOATs. He’s essentially Lance Storm if Lance Storm was given a world title. Most overrated wrestler ever for me and it’s not even close.
I liked Evolution a lot as a kid. But I was the right age to be into heel faction mandrama more than I ever am with any of the current groups, and the other three guys were Ric Flair and two obvious future stars
>>19856169he had some solid moments, but overall- meh.the batiista shit and the short tweener run before forming DX in 06 are probably his best work, and of course 2000- but his promos were always boring, always. Overall 3 decent years out of a 30 year career is pretty abhorrent, at least he had a good look and theme song
