Bret was very apprehensive that day (beyond Shawn, he had a multi-home video agreement with WWE and was upset one of the dates was used to focus on the Screwjob essentially).Bret and Shawn got along great but Shawn had some THICK SKIN. Bret took sooooo many verbal jabs at HBK all day and Shawn would just laugh it off or stare off and nod.Funniest part of the day that we talked about for years, we had a birthday party for a producer and cake. Bret sat at a table alone at first. He actually had a birthday hat on. And he inspected the cake like it was posioned. Took maybe two bites.This was also the day I realized that Gool Ol JR was one of the meanest talents I would ever work with. And it wasn't just one bad day. I would have a few more bad experiences with him over the years.All in all, a lifelong wrestling fan, this day was one of my best experiences working for WWE.

During the Mid south dvd interviews, and one of the wrestlers interviewed chose a place (cannot remember who) JR told PA, "I don't give a fuck. You are going to Rinaldi's to get a fucking potato salad for me."He did something like that once during Steve Austin shoot too. Steve actually changed his choice so the PA didn't have to make extra trips.He would smoke cigarettes indoors (Pat Patterson too!) And you would inhale it and wreak.We also used him for Legends Round table. Him and Michael Hayes would get smashed. That was not coffee in their cups. And JR would be almost unusable by the end of thr shoot.Again these are small things. But after working with him on and off for years, it became grating. I dreaded days with JR.
