>>19877942Mmmmmsdos...that's badass
I used to have a program that let you use Realplayer/QuickTime videos as a screen saver so I used a bunch of Titantrons.
>>19877945good luck downloading images with 3kb download speed
>>19879772And if someone calls your house your internet disconnected and you had to start the download all over again because resuming a download wasn't a thing back then.

>>19877942what were the trivia questions
>>19880918Eh, in retrospect it is but at the time it was goddamn amazing. The only other option was to go to an adult book store or video rental place, neither of which were particularly convenient for a senior in high school.
>>19880937Never DL'ed porn vids on my 56K but i remember printing off porn pics and having to wait 3-5 min for the page to fully loadI remember going to Cable internet in 2001 and it was like a whole new internet Dling songs taking 10-25 min now getting done in just a few seconds and being able to move around the web with ease.
>>19881133Yeah, cable was night and day.56K was probably healthier though. You couldn't be online most of the day. Getting online was kinda special. You also didn't have a device in your pockets at all times enabling you to go online whenever you wanted. We had to do everything in meatspace. Which was great. People talked more. You couldn't really get yourself into an echo chamber. You had to have real hobbies. It's possible to go back to that on an individual basis, obviously, but I miss it being the norm.
