This is the destination for all based webms, brotherOn tonight's docket: NJPW The New Beginning, NOAH Legacy Rise and more!
GO GO GO
HUGE
We're gonna miss you, lil nigga. I read that he's going to WXW which is exciting, that should fit him.
>>19885799>>19885874>>19885915ム
Cursed finner>>19885925BASED MU CHAD
So sick.
I still think Oiwa should've won.
This combo OWNS.
>>19886136Argument could be made that Oiwa has the best clothesline in the biz at the moment
Again, this probably isn't actually a Clarky Cat, but unless commentary or NJPW1972 names the submission then I'm just going to call it that because I can't be fucked to figure out which post-rock album or obscure British TV show Zack was obsessed with the day of the show.>>19886201I'm not sure who I'd counter with. I miss some followthrough on his sometimes, it feels a lot like "run into the arm, take a bump." I really like Strong Machine J's, they're stiff as fuck. Inamura's are also really, really good.
>shoot headbutt in an undercard tag title matchI owe you an apology, Hartley-san. I was not familiar with your game.
>>19886344When I first watched this I thought Yasuda was grimacing because of the landing, but I think he gets his finger pinched between the barricade and the table.
>>19886136I hope they get Oiwa the win back in NJC.
Impressive, but Christ, that landing has to demolish your knees.>>19886399Me too. I haven't looked too carefully at the brackets but I really hope Oiwa goes far, same for Yuya. I think Yuto definitely COULD go far, but I think they should keep him as a tag guy for a while. As much as I like Oskar I don't think he can stand on his own as a singles guy yet.
I wish Kidd would just go back to more of this. The first while in War Dogs before he started turning face were so good, and I feel like his moveset only got more and more flashy which really isn't a good fit for him.
>>19885799>>19885874>>19885915How do these guys look fit and fat at the same time?
This back elbow setup is so gimmicky, but man, it looks great.>>19886624It's called strongfat. I'm sure Makabe is 50% happy weight given that he's purely grandpa wrestling now, but Murashima bulked like CRAZY to get that big.
>>19886624beer, takoyaki and squats
>>19886656>Murashima bulked like CRAZY to get that big.Webmrel is from his debut match. This guy was a national level amateur wrestler before joining the NJPW dojo, I'm not surprised he's jacked as hell.
I don't know what the fuck his plan was here but it certainly didn't work out. Stupid games, stupid prices, I guess?
I would love to watch more of the press conferences, but I just don't have the time for them. I had to go back for this when I heard about it on commentary.
Oops, order. My b.
I understand NJPW being desperate for a new top heel with EVIL out, but really? I don't get why you'd even give Wolf the title at WK if you're gonna do this, it's not like he needed more than to just beat EVIL clean. They didn't even repackage Narita or anything, he wasn't extremely dominant in the build, he didn't pull out anything crazy in the match. I say this as a Narita fan. Why? One of the most baffling booking decisions NJPW has done in a while.
Brutal. Godtier sell from Oskar here.
>>19887155wtf is shitta wearing? Goddamn dude just keeps getting most embarrassing.
Close enough, welcome back Jay White>>19887205I really don't get these posts. He wears extremely normal gear. I think people just hate for the sake of it at this point.
God Damn.
Why is he so SILLY?
This midkick is sca-ry.
I like this spot, it's a cute subversion on the WK spot and works perfectly for Jake's character.
I thought Jake got Hayabusa'd bad here, but it was just Tsuji's head messing with me.
I kinda like this finish. It's not high art wrestling or anything, but at least Jake has some character now.
DON'T THINK, JUST FEEL, bros.Sidenote, this is definitely going to endear him even more to the fans, but his days as a heel are shortening more and more.
Next up's NOAH's 06.02 Legacy Rise show!
I don't think Koyanagi was meant to get this tag, but they end up winging it anyway. Kenoh's reaction is hilarious.
>>19888422Gangster tears.
>>19888601It's absolutely not a work, which makes me wonder why. I get having a favorite wrestler and all, but Hiromu's speech wasn't particularly emotional, at least not the translation we got.
>kenoh and maru both side-eyeing himKek'd>>19888665Missed my webm
>>19888665It's 100% real.Ice tweeted that the person he hangs out with most is Hiromu. He's sad that he doesn't know the next time he'll be around one of his best friends. If anything it confirms to me Hiromu is moving to America. It's funny that his character is being this hard gangster but for whatever reason him crying like that is more endearing and cements that gimmick more than anything else.
Huh what u mean>>19888780>Ice tweeted that the person he hangs out with most is Hiromu.Damn, that blows, but it's a cute story.>It's funny that his character is being this hard gangster but for whatever reason him crying like that is more endearing and cements that gimmick more than anything else.I don't know if it cements the REAL GANGSTA gimmick but it certainly adds to the REAL part. Part of what I like so much with this gimmick of his is that it truly feels like something he came up with and something he's comfortable with. Even if it doesn't make him feel like a tough guy, it absolutely endeared him to the crowd. They love him.
One quick one from GLEAT's recent Road To show, partially because I just wanna talk about this. I really hope this is a sign for what the future of the company is gonna be like. GLEAT's booking has always been one of the weakest parts of the company, and having them switch to more King's Road-inspired buildup tags like this would be a HUGE improvement. Granted this is a tiny show with next to zero production value and a tiny crowd, but just the booking alone would be refreshing.
Next up is NOAH's 11.02 Legacy Rise show!
DAVID MEET GOLIATH
>>19885774Haha, as usual, time for the best thread of the week.
>>19889045Happy to have you here, brother.
The setup and execution could be a bit better, but I think this strikes a good balance between novel and actually functional.
>>19887086I think one of the regular puro tweeters said it best>There's lots of things to be considered [about the Aaron Wolf situation], but one thing is very clear: You can't go 50/50 with the guy. Either he's a top guy immediately OR he goes the Young Lion route
>>19886624high carb diet
Brutal.>>19889236Yeah, that's a fair assessment. I'd get it if it was booked around a weakness of his, like the judo vs. kneebar stuff from the tag matches, or if it was someone who debuted in a different way. The monster performance at WK into a squash just feels so inconsistent.
WEE!
Christ.
SUGI DON'T PLAY
Gotta love Inamura growling and getting in Sugi's face, so fitting for him.
BASED MISAWAIST
>>19888850Uhhh yeah can I get this one, just way worse?
Fucking MASSIVE musou.
A very welcome addition to Inamura's arsenal.
That's it for me for today! Tomorrow I'll have highlights from the first DG Truth Gate show and then we'll take a walk down the King's Road! I'll see you all then. Goodnight, bros.
>>19889593Thank you and goodnight, based webmbro.
what if I were to BIG UP the webm thread tho
>>19889971that'd be cooler than being cool
Would love more from this match if you have the time, but I'm requesting the Piledriver from 19:50https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7HEukZ3EGs
>>19889971Delightfully devilish...
>>19886452catching up on graps again so not pulling from a large pool of examples but have not seen that move look and feel more like it should be a finisher than what this redeemed shadow pulled of there. maybe its the nooj camera work, maybe many use it as finish already, maybe it is a rare big move that never leads to a pin, but that felt like a climax to a battle how that guey flows. hoping to not glaze but like seeing non-custom named moves get put over tactically
>>19886914do actually. guilty here too for short on time, but saw only the ren/wolf and kob/rufstrm and speaking 0 moon along with no american subtitles , the character work was both kek and kinda big fight serious, so (you) got a still high rec'd from hereps: legit thought of this as about too post. if not hijacking ur thread webmbrutha and you do watch the presser/ jap conversant/ know the product, tell us why tana looks peeved. he has his brow furrowed alot here, saw it more ringside at NB. if it is 'his character' it seems dissonant with the frolicking ace as was in active ring days days agothanx 4 time and that these suggestions be not too annoying
*bamp*
I'm back with Truth Gate! Thank you all for keeping us bumped.>>19890968I can't promise I'll have time for the full thing, but I'll see what I can do. I can certainly handle the request!>>19891339I don't think I agree. If Andrade's normal finisher had been a moonsault, and this was a subversion of that, I'd like it. But having a finisher be reliant on your opponent first dodging a move doesn't work for me.>>19891423>tell us why tana looks peeved. he has his brow furrowed alot here, saw it more ringside at NB. if it is 'his character' it seems dissonant with the frolicking ace as was in active ring days days agoI don't speak Japanese, so I can't speak on what's actually been said, but I think him being a bit more reeled in is just his president persona. He was the same way during the rung announcement at NB. Though, knowing the guy, I'm sure EVIL and Hiromu leaving also hit him pretty hard.
This axe kick is so fucking scary every time. Insane how he keeps doing it.
>>19892492appreciate the break down of the double moosault. yeah the rarity/non-finish/style of it are all explained as you point out in its use as a situational counter/follow-up
>>19892518Nice combo!
So fucking smooth! It's the same webm as last time, and you're gonna get the same webm next time, and you'll love it. It's just so good.
>>19890968Taking a little break from Dragon Gate to post this request! Here you go!
>>19892769Reminds me of: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6mGCi_uttg
This venue's super cozy.
So weird to have this move in Danielson's otherwise completely grounded moveset.
>>19890968Here you go!
I've absolutely loved everything Shimizu's done post-return. He has such a presence.>>19893401The sell for this was so good.
>>19893470Jesus fucking Christ I didn't realize that was him
Jesus fucking hell. Ow. Shimizu's clutching his face for the entire match after this and it's easy to see why.>>19893482It's insane. DG has to have the most insane roids hookup, it looks like he's the exact same weight but all muscle.
I love how uncoordinated and violent this is. Like two animals fighting. So sick.
>>19894160Shimizu looks like he moves kinda awkward; it's like he's not comfortable wrestling in his post-weight-loss body yet.
>>19894269I can kinda see it now that I look for it, but honestly, I don't think it takes away from it. He moves like an unchained demon, it works.
Crazy how much GuC and @Key fit into the Natural Vibes stable with just a gear change and a haircut each. They even got the dance down!
BRUTAL dropkick. 5' even of pure murder.
This looks absolutely miraculously safe considering what it is.
This bridge is fucking insane. His head isn't even touching the ground.
Based Benkei bumping like crazy for the kid
>>19887797I still think he's cringe but I think there is a place for him, a little variety in your upper card (that isn't just chickenshit heel antics) keeps things fresher and your big pure workrate matches stand out more
God damn this is slick.
I love when a guy falls into the foreground like this. Looks so cool.
New angle on this one.
One more!
Telling you, DG does multi man matches better than anyone.
To close us out, we're takign a walk down the King's Road! Pants off from this point on, bros. This is Kawada vs. Misawa from the '98 CC, 29.03.1998.>>19894925>>19894959Has to be one of my favorite stylized sells of all time. Ben-K just kills it.>>19895036Oh, absolutely. Their entire roster is built for this kinda thing.
Some more wacky European wrestling from me. We're taking a trip to Germany's wXw. The year is 2020, it's the finale of the shoot-style Ambition tournament. American Daniel Makabe takes on British Chris Ridgeway.
>>19895281Hell yeah. I fucking love Ridgeway, I've missed him since he stopped appearing in GLEAT. His run in NOAH a couple of years ago was so much fun.
great slaps>>19895294yeah I think Ridgeway is a great Jr. really underrated in European indies, but I feel like that's how it is with most European Jrs
you slappa me I slappa you
>>19895309I wish WXW's production was just a tiny bit better. I seek it out every now and again when I see a matchup I'm curious about, but I always feel like the camerawork and sound leaves a little to be desired. I really hope you keep this up, by the way. I'd love to see some highlights from Murashima's excursion.
>>19895347Forgot my webm. This is Misawa vs. Akiyama from the '98 CC finals, 18.04.1998.
>>19895347That's how I feel about RevPro. They have some great wrestling, but their production is like 2012 ROH. I swear my local promotion that draws 300-500 fans at best has better video & sound quality than RevPro.
finally some Makabe offense
Right in the kisser.>>19895371>finally some Makabe offense>immediately gets no-soldSo much for that
>>19895392he was definitely the underdog in this match. I believe 2019 was his breakout year. He was pretty much the indiest of indie wrestlers, but pretty good technically
>>19895392And one in turn! God, that has to hurt.>>19895406I'm not sure I'm super convinced by the webms, but that could be the production and look talking. I'm sure the lack of sound isn't helping either. That's a cool Cattle Mutilation, though.
>>19895392>>19895433Based
>giving green nigga the marty garner treatmentBasejI really like Misawa's sell too, the videogame game over animation-ass try-and-fail-to-get-up.
I wonder where Misawa got the neck problems fr- ACK!
The desperation on this is great. Akiyama was so good at the rookie fire.
SUCH a good setup.
SPIKED.
God damn I love ERUBO.
And that's all for me for this week! Next week you'll get highlights from Fantasticamania and GLEAT, and hopefully some more current stuff. There'll always be mroe King's Road matches to cover if I gotta fill out the thread. Thank you all for spending some of your weekend with me, and as usual an extra thanks to the anon who posted OC! I'll see you all next week. Goodnight, bros.
>>19895726Thank you, my GOAT. Until next week.
*sip*
>>19892728>>19892769>>19892838>>19892906>>19893076Thank you my brother
>>19897876>one minute later
