Yeah. That's back when your #1 guy could just be a psychotic heroin addict with a Ministry shirt.

Honestly? Most things were cooler in the 90's.
>>
>>19899304
yes it actually was. it was also ridiculous and embarassing at times but much more enjoyable. they did a better job of preserving the mystery, for one thing. these wrestlers weren't constantly posting on social media, so our main source of information was magazines and dirtsheets. the internet existed but was pretty limited, so there wasn't a lot of info there. this allowed people to fill in the blank areas with their own imagination.
>>
>>19899304
no. ECW was just the Attitude version of AEW
>>
>>19899412
How did it get so bad?
>>
>>19899434
Sounds great actually
>>
>>19899435
society became pussified. the good times created weak people, and weak people are easily offended. now most entertainment has become shit because people are scared and boring.
>>

How did someone like Vince even lose his balls? Dude turned wwe into Disney after like 2010
>>
>>19899566
chris benoit happened

Fraid so
>>
>>19899435
Late stage capitalism. The end goal is always to maximize profits, and what better way than to give the product the widest appeal, which includes families and non fans
>>
>>19899678
why friend?
>>
>>19899566
I think he never wanted to do the attitude era. I think vince made the content a little more edgy to keep up with current trends at the time, and it was just a means to an end.

Raven even got his own JCW event named after him in the 2000s titled "Raven's Revenge?"

not sure if you found this after I made that post in the other thread about wrestling magazines on Archive.
If anyone is interested in accessing probably a few thousand wrestling magazine scans for free just search things on archive like "wrestling magazine 1997" or whatever year, a wrestler's or promotion name and the word "magazine", magazine name, even organized by publisher too. Here's a link for one of them as an example

I went to an indy (IWCCW) show in a tent one time in the early 90s and there was a midge wrestler called Frankie "Third Degree" Burns who was a bad guy and he came out with a torch and spit fire. He threatened to light me on fire and I thought he was really going to and got scared desu.

Johnny Webb was much shorter than Moxley, pretty sure they couldn't be the same person.

Wrestling was always for losers and edgy teens. Even back in the 90s. It was a giant meme that died in 2001.
