why is everything so slow now? promos, matches, entrances… everything takes forever, steve austin used to storm to the ring and say what he needed to say in 3 minutes is HHH still telling everyone to slow down so he feels smart?
>>
I'm pretty sure they just don't want to give things away for free. why have 20 segments when you can have 10 longer segments? Problem is it never leads to anything. Even wrestlemania is shit now so what are we waiting for exactly? when is the good shit gonna happen lol
>>
This has been a growing problem for years. Something changed about 15 years ago. Its been constant 10+ minute opening promo exchanges ever since, matches were always slow to let every move hit and connect. The entrance slog is the more recent development. No one is trained to work anymore, no one can work anymore really. Half the roster is just there, getting no ring time, match time and TV time.

It's getting worse. Now they have two completely separate rosters for TV and PPV. Right now on raw is el grande vs pentagon. Neither of these can get on PPV if their lives depended on it so why am I watching this match?
>>
>>19904187
That's the reason why crowd sing the entrance themes now.. That would never happen in the attitude era.
>>
>>19904298
surely that would incentivise them to speed up to showcase their roster if it’s that big
>>
Is just content to fullfil Netflix's contract they already got paid anyway so why put any effort into it?
>>
>C- player is in control of creative
>Had to carry bags to get into the mid card
>Never been over in his career
>Never been a baby face in his long ass career
>Was the least liked member of all DX versions i.e OG,Mid-card DX in the Attitude Era and the DX with hornswoggle
I can go on but you get the point
>>
>>19904187
They have to fill 3 hours
>>
>>19906120
it’s was the same on smackdown for 2 hours

same retard with the 1-character ellipsis. Who is typing up this material for you? Are you so awful at English you need to copy/paste from a translation service?
>>
>>19904187
its slow an boring, low energy and just weak and pathetic crap
as others have said its just content to fill a couple of hours for netflix, so they dont try anymore
its the worst it has ever been
>>
>>19904187
It's 1000% the Paul factor.
>>
>>19904298
There's also the Wrestlemania roster, which exists in it's own sphere.

It's funny because I'm in 2001 of my rewatch and top stars are still wrestling on TV every week. Sometimes twice. Yeah some of the matches are less than 10 minutes or end in DQ or whatever but you'd still get Austin vs Kurt on free TV. When AEW has two top guys wrestle on TV, it's "LOL Tony is so dumb putting this on free TV!" Another one that's cooled down a bit now, but you used to have people asking why the AEW ppv didn't have all the matches announced and why commentary don't spend TV time every show running through the card. Guess what, they didn't do that when 7 million were watching WWE every week either. Sometimes you'd get shows that were half full of shit that you'd expect to see on Heat or ended up announced on the Heat before the PPV. WWE have conditioned their modern audience to accept slop and top stars wrestling once or twice a month and filling TV time with ads and rundowns for a PPV they were going to watch anyway. A lot of these people probably weren't even alive back then, but the ones that were who have gone full edrone are the worst fans around. 2000 and 2001 is obviously full of McMahon family bullshit, but it's still full of action and they don't fill TV time with guys fucking walking or drone shots of the arena and crowd constantly. Commentary aren't treating every show like it's someone's first time watching even though wrestling isn't creating new fans and even if it was, you don't need a double digit IQ to understand what the fuck is happening on a fucking wrestling show ffs.

This anon nailed it. We're yet to see a single refute and never will because it's the biggest truth nuke dropped on modeen WWE programming.

Ever since they started using hip hop shit’s been sucking. How do you wrestle to nigga music. It just makes me want to sit in my couch and collect unemployment checks

attitude era
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qSqBhFgpwgM
>rock walks out
>talks shit
>road dogg walks out
>they fight for a bit
>rock gets jumped by the rest of dx
total time: 9 minutes

today's era
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0fbUMBZceA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mwOk9hMSuI
>punk walks out
>talks about the vision
>have to wait till the main event for them to fight
>punk and his tag partner walk out
>vision walks out
>15 minute match
>punk gets jumped before he can win
total time: 40 minutes
its the same trope except now it takes 4x as long. the pacing is awful now. you think with how big the roster is now they'd have shorter segments
>>
>>19906120
Then have 14 matches.
>but people won't remember half of them
People don't remember any of them now and there's only 3-4 matches.
>>
>>19906775
Then
>heel comes out to talk shit
>already chased by the babyface in hot pursuit
>sometimes gets to talk, sometimes doesn't, you never know
>segment runtime: 2 minutes, 3 if there's an angle, then break and small recap of 30 seconds post-break for digestion and the "in case you missed it / loved it" people before the next segment starts
>"We might be running out of time folks, but we're doing out best to stay with you"

Now
>Babyface comes out to talk shit
>10 minutes later, starts talking
>anywhere from 3 to 15 minutes later, babyface being talked about comes out with a microphone, takes 5 minutes
>talks shit back
>not a single personal insult is thrown either way
>nobody runs
>nobody walks
>sometimes a third party enters with his/her own full entrance that takes 3 minutes including climbing on the turnbuckles to pose for the crowd IN THE MIDDLE OF A POLITE CONVERSATION BETWEEN LIFELONG RIVALS who are the babyfaces
>"You know, I could beat you right now", "I know, I could beat you right now too"
>one walks away like he lost a coin flip, takes 4 minutes
>later the match is a 50-high-spot 30 minute snoozefest, plus ad breaks, plus sponsored table spot
>clean finish without heat, third party interferes on behalf of babyface loser to put heat on babyface winner
>"Enjoy the show, cya next week"
>>
>>19907171
what?
>>
>>19907171
accurate. it makes me laugh how two men can talk shit at each other for 15 minutes and it doesn't become a fight.
