>Is it good to be alive on a monday night in XYZ or WHAT?
i like punk but is there anyone with a worse catchphrase rn?
>>
>>19906545
god he’s so fucking soulless now
>>
>>19906545
>i like punk
nice try phil, nobody likes you
>>
I don't mind it, but when you compare it to Cody, who learned from Cena, Cody's catchphrase is based around talking WITH the crowd, same as Cena did, while Punk is talking TO the crowd and trying to get the desired response, and that showed last week when he asked if the crowd thought Roman was good for the WWE and they said yes, and this week really fell flat for a while as the crowd didn't react to what he was saying, but overall Punk usually does well with promos and smarks would say he is the best talker, so it is whatever

Some anon posted about how weird the angle of his hair is and as dumb as it sounds it's impossible not to notice.
>>
>>19906545
Popped a co-worker with it the first day we worked a Saturday together.
>"Is it good to be alive on a Saturday morning in (work address) or what?"
>>
>>19906545
What's wrong? He got older, the CM now stands for Corporate Man
>>
Phil sold his soul to the MAGA cult and Saudi Arabia blood money just to get back at jungle boy. What a spineless coward fuckhead.
>>
I wish I was fucking dead.

No matter the year, no matter the era, the C stands for cuck.
>>
>>19906545
>a top babyface has a go to catch phrase that they use in every city to get a cheap pop
>OMG THIS GUY SUCKS
You guys are so fucking mindbroken by Phil that you forget (or pretend to forget) the basics of professional wrestling
>>
>>19906545
its awful, but "what do you wanna talk about" is even worse
>>
>FINALLY THE ROCK HAS COME BACK, TO X CITY
that will always be my personal favorite. But yeah “is it great to be alive in x city” is alright.
>>
>>19906564
>the crowd didn't react to what he was saying
They didn't react to anything, shittiest crowd in a while. I mean it wasn't a great show but still
>>
Punk was always a guy who went against the norm
The fact he has to rely on the cheapest of cheap pops by namedropping the city shows how far he has fallen
>>
>>19906545
I think the city of XYZ SUCKS
>>
>>19906545
well e-drone, is it good to be alive?
>>
>>19906545
this one and cody's so local town what do you wanna talk about have go away heat with me
>>
>>19906811
Punk's promos have always relied on being over. If he doesn't have that he has to shoot and say something scandalous. Otherwise he will just work heel in the moment. He's never really been in the situation where he has to win over crowds since the Summer of Punk.
>>
>>19906545
it’s actually crazy how much better everyone was on the mic in 2012 as much as people shit on vince for his obsession with mic work it clearly kept them on their game. punk and cena are embarrassing on the mic now
>>
>>19907106
They are both much better now than they were then, so is Seth, etc. but the status quo of fandom is just to shit on everything, especially based on the name of whoever was in the segment.
>>
>>19907106
Yes, if you go back 15 years and watch some matches and promos the work was better
>>
>>19907106
You guys just hate on everything now. Talking about wrestling online is becoming nauseating. I had to unsubscribe from guys like InternJon.
>>19907147
Nta, I’ve been watching wrestling since 1997. If you think this era is bad, then you clearly weren’t watching from 07-11
>>
>>19907126
I dont know how you can stomach it.
I see bits and pieces of WWE shows and I am appalled at what I see
>>
>>19906545
It’s just phrased and delivered awkwardly.

If he wants to end with “or what?!” as a fun stinger, fine. But it should be phrased like this:

“[City!!]”

*pause for cheap pop #1*

“Is it good to be alive on a Monday night or what?!”

*cheap pop #2*

Improving its flow is really that simple.
>>
>>19907126
No, WWE has just gotten a lot worse over the last 10 years.
>>
>>19907126
seth isn’t and never has been good on the mic and there’s no way you watched punk and cena this last year and think they’re better than they were in 2012
>>
>>19906545
Sounds like a Vince-ism, and that's as harsh a criticism as I can imagine
>>
>>19907174
No, it was terrible in 2019 etc.
>>19907296
Seth has character motivations and storyline development locked down, the build for WM41's night one main event was mostly based on him while Punk and Roman exchanged forgettable zingers and variations of 'I don't like you'.
Punk and Cena were way better at making a story in recent times as opposed to said zingers etc. while Seth and Cody were the best at focusing on setting up a story and actual meaning for everything.
>>
>>19906571
Foley used to do it with soul though
>>
Is it good to be alive on a Monday night in Riyadh or what?
