Moments that mindbroke them
>5 stars in 2026Equivalent to approximately 3.5 stars in the 90s. Good card but nothing special
>>19907835This was the peak for AEW though. They haven't come close to touching this since. They actually had a good handful of well built long term storylines with actual heat behind these matches. And it worked. The rest of the show was great as well. I'll even go as far as to say Edge and Mox as underrated outside of the finish. Then Tony just stopped bothering and I don't understand why
>>19907835>Hollywood EndingPeak storytelling>Omega/TakeshitaLegitimately great>Cage matchMasturbatory overbooked slop
Both Toni and Mariah have done nothing since that match
>>19907835The Toni storm stuff i am aware of everything else haven't heard anything of until now
Hollywood Ending was a really fitting way to end the whole storyline, but i feel it went too far with stuff like the glass on pussy spot. Mariah cutting Jordynne's hair in the steel cage match they had in NXT legit got more of a reaction out of me than any spots in it.I remember Omega vs Takeshita having a really good last few minutes but it was mostly forgettable.Ospreay vs Fletcher would've been incredible had it ended with the spot where Fletcher was begging on his knees, the match going on for nearly 10 minutes longer ruined it for me.Crazy enough, my favorite match that night was Hurt Business vs Outrunners (has the lowest cagematch rating, kek) because it had the perfect balance between action and comedy.
>>19907861All shit and Kenny fucks children
>>19907863While untrue it does at least feel this way for Toni
>>19907835>cagematch>discord filenameOP is a dickless troon lmao
>>19907835Lets post WWEs 5 star matches to get the AEW fans mad! Someone has those right?
>>19907905not everyone's cup of tea but the shattered bottles were part of their story. wasn't done just for the sake of it
>>19907920KEK
>>19907920>5 star matchesUnironically using a picture of one of the Young Bucks too caps off how retarded you sound>Dave said
>>19907934The Bucks are the greatest tag team of all time.
>>19907937There's no way you seriously believe this
>>19907942I do and Dave agrees with me.
>>19907934Bro dont look mad in front of the AEW fans, just post the 5 star matches and then they will FREAK OUT!!
>>19907835Only 5 stars?
>>19907949Oh dear
>>19907920>>19907950okay
>>19907965>womeme slop
>>19907965They're not gonna like this one
>>19907965Shit like this really shows how fucking dire modern wrestling is in aew and wwe and at the same time how fucking retarded dave is.
>>19907965lmao the madlad actually did it! ahahhahah what and IDIOT!!!!
>>19907970>womeme slopMeanwhile the OP has Ospreay and Fletcher included
>>19907985the male version of womeme slop.
>>19907984>what and IDIOT
>>19907835I don’t know any of these people.
>>19907835>>19907852>the only one of those matches that's still talked about is the Toni v Blake one >no one remembers generic kenny and assplay have gay sex in the ring for 30 mins number 57
>>19907914You know who it is
>>19907984>what and IDIOT!!!!What did he mean by this?
>>19908024you said it
>>19907835>Dave claims 5 star matches are once in a generation>gives 5 stars to 3 matches on the same cardkekBut seriously, these matches would warrant between a 3 and 3.5 in the 90s. None of them will be remembered 5 years from now, let alone 10 years from now. And therefore, these are not 5 star matches.
>>19908322None of them were remember 5 days later.
>>19908322>>19908416we're about a year out and people do still talk about the hollywood ending. i'll give you no argument on those other two though
>>19907835
>>19908445Yup. Crowd was exhausted after those previous three and fizzled out after Edge's entrance. They got the crowd back into it by the finish but Tony booked the most retarded finish possible which killed the match. It's a shame because the actual match itself was pretty damn solid. But between the dead crowd and the overbooked finish it'll be remembered as a pile of shit
>>19908457Christian successfully pinning Cope while in Moxley's choke would have brought it up to 4.5 stars.
>>19908607Wouldn't have hated it. Truthfully anything that wasn't the direction they went with would've been better. Christian scumming the world title would've been peak. The Copester becoming world champ and ending the Death Riders shit would've been better than what they ultimately did with Hangman at All In. Instead all Tony gave us was a big middle finger to both guys and everyone watching which put a real damper on an otherwise all timer of a ppv
>>19907861the cage match was worth it despite any complaints if only for the staredown poses on top camera pan
>>19907835>Luther has more 5 star matches than Kurt Angle
>>19907835the hollywood ending should have main evented
>>19909006>the manager gets 5* by proxy
>>19909036Why not? They're a part of the performance too.
>>19909063Does that mean the announcers get one too? Since they called the match? Excalibur would have like 50 of them at this point
>>19909075I think good commentary can elevate a match and bad commentary can make it worse. But to be fair, the live crowd can't hear them so I get why they aren't included. Managers though really should be. Same with anyone that gets involved in the match, even if illegally. That factors into how a match is judged, so why not? The whole thing is a performance, and not every role is part of the "officially sanctioned" match.
