Naoya Nomura announced to start wrestling in GLEAT. Beats me why he left AJPW to go there when he was doing okay in AJPW. I have to wonder if he tried to get in NOAH and NOAH turned him down since they took on Naito and all of his boys.

>[All Japan] Hideki Suzuki revives “Evolution” for the first time in two years — the real aim is “maintaining Suwama-san’s health.”

>All Japan Pro Wrestling’s renegade unit “Evolution” has returned after lying dormant for roughly two years. What’s the thinking behind it? We spoke directly with the man at the center of it all, Hideki Suzuki (45), known as “the most stubborn eccentric in the mat world.”

>The rampaging group’s comeback came at the Korakuen show on the 15th. With Suzuki and Suwama set to challenge for the World Tag Team titles against Ren Ayabe and Talos, they won a six-man tag match in a preview bout. After the match, Suwama declared the unit’s revival together with Suzuki, Kōtaro Satō, and Dan Tamura.

>It has been about two years since Suwama effectively announced the unit would go dormant in July two years ago. Suzuki, believed to have been working behind the scenes to bring it back, explained: “If it isn’t gone, then let’s do it.” He added, “Suwama-san didn’t appear (in All Japan) that much last year. When we were thinking about how to bring him back onto All Japan’s ring again, I felt what was needed wasn’t ‘Baka no Jidai,’ but ‘Evolution.’”

>In other words, reviving the unit is meant to spur Suwama’s “re-rampage.” Suzuki said: “The biggest purpose (of restarting) is maintaining Suwama-san’s health. Last year he had far too few matches. I don’t know why I, just a contracted wrestler, have to secure the place and health of a part-time executive director, but…”—he explained the significance with his characteristic dry tone.

>With a title challenge against Ayabe & Talos looming at the Ota Ward General Gymnasium event on the 23rd, he clenched his fist and declared: “From here, I want to go straight into total domination. After the World Tag, the Asian Tag too… I’m going to carry that kind of fighting spirit.” Will the return of the rampaging unit whip up a storm on the King’s Road mat?

>[NOAH] Alpha Wolf & Kai Fujimura protect their one-loss record and head into the final round as sole leaders in the Junior Tag League — with four teams chasing on two losses in a tightly-packed race

>In a “Junior Tag League” tournament match at NOAH’s Kumamoto event on the 22nd, TEAM 2000X’s Alpha Wolf and Kai Fujimura (30) picked up their fifth win, defeating the team of Eita (34) and Katsumi Inaba (24).

>With Eita’s team already eliminated, Wolf and Kai launched a surprise attack, assaulted them outside the ring, and grabbed the early advantage. Kai weathered a counterattack when Inaba tried to roll him up, but refused to give up the three-count. After shutting down the follow-up with a thrust kick, Kai finished Inaba with a Death Hanger (a modified buster) after a combination with Wolf.

>In the day’s other league matches, Dragon Bane & Alejandro—who had been tied for the lead with one loss—suffered their second loss against Tadasuke & Jun Masaoka. As a result, Wolf & Kai will go into their final league match (23rd, Hakata) as sole leaders. A draw or better will secure their spot in the championship-deciding match (March 1, Korakuen).

>Chasing them on two losses are four teams: Bane & Alejandro; Tadasuke & Masaoka; Daga & Daiki Odashima; and Mark True & Kieron Lacey. True & Lacey have a direct showdown with Wolf & Kai in the final round, setting up what looks like a qualification battle that won’t be decided until the very end.

I wasn't feeling Saito's reign last year but I think he's had a decent string of matches lately so I'm curious to see what happens here though I think the better move for AJPW is have Saito lose and focus the brothers in the tag division. Evolution vs Titans should be pretty good. Kuma vs Sekimoto could be interesting though so far Kuma's break off from Hokuto-gun has been eh so he needs a strong match here.

I'll say first thing first that mine is not a diss to AJPW, not trying to beef with anyone. I was catching up with stuff and reading japanese comments in the usual place and want to hear what /puro/ fags think about

>2/23 All Japan Excite Series 2026, Ota Ward General Gymnasium, Tokyo, 2237 people
>Looking at this picture I thought there would be fewer, but maybe they were somewhere I couldn't see? https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HB0kMvKbIAAGw9k.jpg
>The problem is that the quality of the matches other than All Japan's Miyahara is low. They're all big but can't move, so the basics are poor and the only junior who's impressive is Aoyagi's younger brother.
>It seems like AJPW periodically gets a temporary boost and then self-destructs every time. This time, the number of female fans increased, but those fans are willing to spend money, but they also lose interest quickly. Anzai and the young guys from DG and New Japan Pro Wrestling, came over, and then after a lot of things, they ended up going to DDT again.
>Miyahara spent most of his career in All Japan, and that was during its twilight years under Akiyama's presidency. Yet he became such a skilled wrestler—he must have had real talent. That's precisely why it's such a waste he never ventured beyond All Japan. Because of that, he couldn't be part of his idol Tanahashi's retirement road either.

The big thing I would agree with is AJPW has a heavy reliance on big guys. Some are pretty decent like Jun Saito while others like Odyssey will only work in a tag match because a longer singles match only hurts him. That was my issue with Miyahara vs Talos. Talos is one of the better gaijin AJPW has right now but that match went on a bit too long for as limited as Talos can be in the ring. I do think picking up guys like Go Shiozaki and Hideki Suzuki has helped diversify the roster a bit but to me the biggest problem is the AJPW dojo is glacial in producing talents compared to other promotions right now. It isn't a good look when the only young boys AJPW has running around is Kofuji and Yano and while both are fairly decent they're both going to be juniors. I think the analysis of the junior division though is a bit unfair. Atsuki is a solid ace but I think the junior division is actually pretty solid right now despite being small with guys like Rising Hayato and Dan Tamura. Even Seigo who was just working as a goofy comedy jobber is having a pretty exciting evolution from comedy jobber to guy who is a loveable goof but can actually go in the ring. In some regards I think the junior division actually has a better balance than the heavyweights of young talents with different styles. Now I'm not saying the AJPW junior division is the best in the business or anything but I'd rather watch it than the NOAH junior division of a few years ago. I wouldn't say current AJPW is perfect by any means but I think for the last few months at least it's been a pretty consistent product for the most part and I think the lows in AJPW aren't as bad as the lows in NOAH though the highs in NOAH are higher than the highs in AJPW.

>[All Japan] Miyahara Kento beats Saito Jun with a Reverse DOOM to notch Triple Crown V5: “Japanese pro-wrestling fans like me!”

>At All Japan Pro Wrestling’s Ota Ward event on the 23rd, Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion Miyahara Kento (36) defeated Saito Jun (39) to successfully make his fifth defense (V5).

>From the opening moments, the two traded a heated, no-give-ground exchange. In the floor battle, Miyahara was left writhing after Jun’s towel attack and the like, but he fired back with headbutts and attacks into the guardrail as they brawled fiercely.

>Afterward, Miyahara skillfully worked the crowd and gradually turned the support into a tailwind. Even while absorbing heavy shots, he leaned on his trademark toughness, enduring and then striking back at key moments. Mid-match, he hit a piledriver on the apron and pushed Jun to the brink of a KO.

>But from there, he struggled to finish off the challenger as Jun showed his grit. Looking to land the final blow, Miyahara went for an avalanche brainbuster from the top turnbuckle, but Jun reversed positions and Miyahara was slammed down with an avalanche chokeslam.

>The match remained seesaw right into the closing stretch. Miyahara sent the crowd into a frenzy when he blasted Jun in the face with the “Reverse DOOM” he had “developed” for this match—only to immediately eat a same-style Dying Light in return. In the end, he hit Blackout and then arched into a Shutdown Suplex to score the three-count and secure a razor-thin victory.

>After 27 minutes, 32 seconds of battle, Miyahara addressed the applauding crowd: “Is this the air of an away crowd? Why are you cheering me even though you’re calling it ‘away’? Do you know why?” Then, without missing a beat, he shouted in self-rapture: “In the end, Japanese pro-wrestling fans like me!”
>>
>>19944446
>Miyahara then designated the site of his V6 defense as the March 20 event at Esforta Arena Hachioji in Tokyo. Answering that call was Kumaarashi, who has left Hokuto-gun and is now operating on his own. After defeating Sekimoto Daisuke in the third match of the night to win the GAORA TV title, Kumaarashi issued a challenge: “I’ve got one demand. Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion Miyahara Kento—accept my challenge.”

>Miyahara accepted: “I was wondering who it was—former Hokuto-gun. No, former W-1’s Kumaarashi. You’re former Hokuto-gun, former W-1… nothing but ‘former,’ huh. If you’re going to lay bare who you are now—your life—on this ring, then I’ll take it.” When Kumaarashi fired back, “A man doesn’t go back on his word. Head-on fight,” the two pressed foreheads together and glared, sparks already flying.

>Miyahara—who turns 37 on the 27th—also let his self-love burst out, even strong-arming fans into photographing his “valuable 36-year-old self.” He closed in high spirits with a ringing line: “If you want to feel a heart-pounding thrill you can’t get in everyday life, then keep your eyes on me. If you watch Miyahara Kento, your lives will get just a little richer too.”

Just finished the 2/23 AJPW show. I think the show went a little long and I got fatigued at times but the actual matches were solid for the most part. Hokuto vs Honda overdelivered for an opening match. Kuma vs Sekimoto was a decent hoss fight and I'm curious to see if Kuma can prove himself as a singles midcard guy though I think throwing him at Kento already is an odd choice. Seeing Rei Saito back in the ring was nice just because you could tell he was happy about it. The first junior tag match I liked except for whoever it was that tossed the chair hit a cameraman in the head with it and that could've been a recipe for disaster so I'm glad the camera guy is okay but that was still extremely sloppy. Evolution vs Titans of Calamity I will easily say Ayabe and Suzuki were the stars of that match because Suwama was a bit slow and Talos was just average. Kento vs Jun Saito was a really good match though they didn't do anything new but I think Jun Saito's been having a good string of matches lately which is cool.

>Madoka Kikuta would enlist interference from Gajadokuro (the first time he’s done so in his reign) to give him an edge against Yoshioka, although he would have to do a whole lot more to put Yoshioka down. A little info about Korakuen Hall booking (that I personally didn't know but seems like a lot of japanese didn't know that as well).
Which make me realize why DDT also NOAH (but I don't follow NOAh so please correct me) announced in advance for the whole year the full schedule of their Korakuen Hall shows.

Gentlemen, how do we save AJPW?
>>
>>19969692
Clone Kento 39 times.
>>
AJPW and DragonGate should team up to make a competitor to Wrestle Universe.
>>
>>19969692
Fix whatever issues their dojo has so it starts cranking out talent a bit faster and starting putting more faith in some of their guys. Yuma Anzai is awesome but he needs people besides just Kento to work with. Guys like Ashino, Honda, and Omori are definitely ready for the main event but AJPW just isn't doing it yet.

>>19970654
I wish they would. I'd watch Dragon Gate alongside AJPW but AJPW only costs 6 dollars compared to Dragon Gate who charges more for their service than NJPW World or Wrestle Universe which is absurd.
>>
>>19969692

>>19970654
AJPW+Dragongate is a far better core product than NOAH+DDT, at least at the moment. Joshi is another story since WU is stacked in that department and Bushiroad is actively trying to keep most of the scene in Stardom's orbit. AJPW does have the ties to Actwres though and Evolution through Suwama. Signing up for 10 bucks a month would be a no brainer if the service looked something like that.

I'm gonna be disappointed if with Okatani challenging To-y they don't make the Extreme title match an real hardcore.
That aside, Kanon is such a "meh" guy as challenger, I think is the first booking misstep for Ueno's champion road but I guess that after Masada they had to push a midcarder who isn't a rookie.
The only saving grace would be if the match ends up like Hino vs Ueno (2021) 2.5

Dragongate's problem is that GAORA are their owners and while they probably help hugely when it comes to lighten the financial burden they are also fucking retards.
>What if we make the worst streaming service where shows disappear until they've aired on our tv channel and also make it the most expensive one.

>Before his suspension, Aoyagi was slightly superior to Suzuki. However, I expect Aoyagi will likely endure a barrage of Suzuki's stiff attacks, only to eventually lose to a joint lock like a rookie. It'll probably be a clichéd "atonement match," a transparent attempt to regain fan support.
>In All Japan Pro-Wrestling, even recently, after matches like Miyahara vs. Shiozaki and Atsuki vs. Yano, the winner would grab a mic and perform the classic ritual of saying, "Let's welcome this guy!" So, I wouldn't be surprised if Suzuki does the exact same thing again this time, pushing for an acceptance with that completely predictable pattern.
>To put it rather negatively, Aoyagi-ni is incredibly resourceful. "He'd come in with a monk-like or young-apprentice outfit, get soundly beaten up as per the storyline, and then act dejected for about half a year." He'd pull it off perfectly, that guy. And All Japan fans would be fully aware of the act, yet still clamor, "Ni-ni has truly repented!"
>Aoyagi's return, for better or worse, probably won't surprise us.
I predict he'll challenge for the Triple Crown this New Year's Eve and lose.

Is wrestle universe still the best/most cost effective service for watching Japanese wrestling?

Absolutely. Nobody else bundles like WU and it's the same price or cheaper as most of the single-promotion services. I think it's like half the price of Dragongate.

If you want a lot of variety and content for one price you can't beat Wrestle Universe right now. Wrestle Universe gives you access to a lot of promotions and a decent amount of those promotions are doing good stuff right now. Some like AJPW TV are really cheap but you're only getting access to one promotion. You also get a free trial with Wrestle Universe while a lot of the other services won't do that either so you get a chance to taste test DDT, NOAH, TJPW, Marigold, and the rest to see if it's for you or not.

Just finished the 3/8 AJPW show. Comedy heavy and the card was definitely set up to appease the fujos but you have to give the fujos credit they make for some of the loudest crowds. Seeing some of the Dragon Gate guys was interesting because I don't know a lot about Dragon Gate so seeing the salaryman guy made me laugh a bit. The show was centered around Rising Hayato. I guess it makes sense since Rising Hayato is now only focusing on AJPW and nowhere else. I can't complain since Rising Hayato is pretty good and I'm sure AJPW is eager to push him hard.

There is this rumor going on. I remember reading on twitter or 5ch that people talked about Shinjuku Face renovations, not closing.
But eve uncles on 5ch are saying that Kakutoblog is posting this out of his ass without a source
Even if just closed down for renovations what are the other choices in Tokyo that has the same venue capacity?

the source is a guy who runs a pro wrestling bar, so potentially someone who might have actually heard something. obviously he should've talked to him first for more info though

Apparently AJPW is going to be announcing more about their new trainee in the dojo. He's the son of some comedian in Japan and has a background in Judo. He also has a Youtube channel that seems to get decent views so I guess AJPW is leaning more into that since Kento's channel does well and the Saitos' food shows are popular. He has a pretty good look though from what I'm seeing. It's nice to see AJPW announcing some heavyweight trainees because while I like Kofuji and Yano they're definitely going to be juniors.

>[All Japan] Hanawa’s eldest son, Hanawa Motoki, signs a trainee contract: “I want to give it my all and become a good wrestler.”

>All Japan Pro Wrestling announced on the 10th that comedian Hanawa’s eldest son, Hanawa Motoki (25), has signed a trainee contract.

>Hanawa is a 25-year-old from Saga City. Since childhood he devoted himself to judo, and that journey was featured on TV programs such as TBS’s “Sanma’s SUPER Karakuri TV” and Nippon TV’s “Ariyoshi Seminar.” After graduating from the prestigious Kokushikan University, he worked as a teacher, but resigned last May. After receiving an offer from the front office, he reached this agreement.

>Appearing at a press conference in Tokyo alongside All Japan Pro Wrestling president Fukuda Goki and wrestlers’ association chairman Miyahara Kento, Hanawa greeted attendees by saying: “I’ve had the opportunity to sign a trainee contract with All Japan Pro Wrestling. I’ve practiced judo up to now, and I feel that I’ve reached a stopping point with judo within myself. On this stage called pro wrestling, I want to fight and expand the name ‘Hanawa Motoki’ and make it bigger.”

>As for his goals, he declared: “I want to build up ‘Hanawa Motoki’ as a pro wrestler and become a star. I want to work hard to make All Japan Pro Wrestling even bigger.” He also revealed he received a message from his father Hanawa: “Keep at it with a positive attitude.”

>As someone switching over from the judo world, New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Aaron Wolf—who debuted this January—would be a senior in that path. Hanawa confessed: “Back when I was a university student, I even trained with Wolf-san. Seeing someone like that fighting on a big stage motivates me. I’m not overly conscious of it, but I do have the desire to grow myself and perform on a big stage.” He pledged to take a leap forward: “I don’t know what style I’ll end up with, but I want to give it my all and become a good wrestler.”

>About 20% (!) of Japanese pro wrestling events are held across the three venues of Korakuen, Shin-Kiba, and FACE, and the withdrawal of FACE—which has a truly one-of-a-kind location, a distinctive festive vibe, and an impressive scale—is a real blow. Below are the usual posting counts.

I don't get how Tokyo doesn't have more venues. Third biggest city in the world. Where do bands play or smaller sports teams or leagues play?
>>
>>20041240
not every venue can be turned into a wrestling one. and over the years reading japanese comments seemed to me that the building is old as fuck and in kabukicho, a central place.
the problem of area like that in tokyo is that they are not that big and probably hard to fix without tearing the whole building down, if that make sense.
>>
>>20041365
>not every venue can be turned into a wrestling one
I get that not all of them can or maybe even most of them, it's just surprising that there's not at least a handful more.
>the problem of area like that in tokyo is that they are not that big
I guess that's what the real issue is. I've been in dozens of bars or nightclubs in America that are about the same size as Shinjuku FACE. But in Japan that's not a thing, everything is tightly packed because space is at a premium. A lot of bars even are just a room up on the 3rd floor or something.

>At GLEAT’s Shin-Kiba show on the 8th, “XX Style” Katsuhiko Nakajima (37) went into his V8 defense and lost to Soma Watanabe (27), dropping the LIDET UWF World title belt he had held for 1 year and 8 months.

>It was an unexpected ending. From the start, Nakajima used sharp strikes to score multiple knockdowns, and with the points at 5–1, he was closing in on victory. But in a split second, his opponent seized an opening, took his back, and cinched in a sleeper hold—knocking him out. He lost the belt in humiliating fashion via referee stoppage, biting his lip as he said, “He caught me off guard. It’s been a while since my consciousness went out.”

>Afterward, Nakajima spoke to reporters with a refreshed expression: “It really shows how tough UWF is—things like this can happen.” He went on to express gratitude toward the belt, saying, “The history of being able to move forward together with that belt—that’s an irreplaceable asset to me.”

>After successfully defending for the seventh time, he had declared himself “unbeatable” and even floated the taboo idea of “sealing away” the title. The three men who raised the flag of rebellion, each for their own reasons, were Watanabe, Takanori Ito, and Tetsuya Ido. Nakajima said, “It was kind of forced, but by using the word ‘seal,’ it might actually have been good that it fired up the younger guys. From here, I hope those three can liven up LIDET UWF.” In that sense, he entrusted the future to them.

>As for what comes next for him, Nakajima—who is a freelancer—wore a fearless grin: “I’m free. If there’s a place I can fight, I want to go anywhere.” He added, evasively, “GLEAT, other promotions, overseas too… I want to broaden the possibilities for pro wrestler Katsuhiko Nakajima.” Where will he head after losing the belt…?

Qrd? What did CIMA do
>>
>>20044841
Okay so:
>It's 2018. The old president of DG (Okamura) steps down and CIMA briefly becomes the president of the company. For some strange reasons it is decided to split the company in two. DRAGON GATE Entertaiment, the one who operates in Japan with Toru Kido as it's President and DRAGON GATE Inc (Who Okamura invested some money prior to his illness) based in Shanghai, CIMA was the Vice President. CIMA then took with him T-Hawk, El Lindaman and Takehiro Yamamura to train the OWE guys, before splitting off entirely from DG.

>YAMATO tweeted a story from his younger days in DG when CIMA was the ace of DG. iirc it was after one of his first main events and YAMATO got injured and needed to go to the hospital. CIMA accompanied him there and basically told him that he should expect to main event much as CIMA though he sucked and was a opening/midcard wrestler at best.

>Tozawa (who had left for WWE in two years earlier) tweeted a similar story. CIMA didn't like Tozawa because he was troublesome during his rookies days, that's why he had that fattie gimmick, he also got left behind pretty quickly by his rookie class (Takaki, Hulk, YAMATO and Cyber Kong). Fast foward to 2011, Tozawa returned from his US excursion, was super over and still jobbed to CIMA (that was CIMA's 15 defenses title reign).

>Kobe World 2024. YAMATO wins the Dream Gate title for a 6th time, more than any other DG wrestler. YAMATO cuts a 14-minute show closing promo in which he noted that those that betrayed Dragongate would never be welcomed back while YAMATO stood guard, and that YAMATO wouldn’t rest until the company regained where it was before the split.

>Shinjuku FACE to close at the end of September — manager speaks on the possibility of a new venue: “I want to build it again.”

>The manager, Yukka Ogawa (51), indicated the possibility of a new venue that could replace Shinjuku FACE, the event hall in Shinjuku, Tokyo that will close on September 30.

>Beloved in the pro wrestling and combat-sports world as the “second holy ground” after Korakuen Hall, Shinjuku FACE announced its closure on the 10th via its official X account. It will bring its 21-year history to an end. Sanshiro Takagi of DDT, whose promotion ran a show at the venue on the 11th, lamented the closure: “This Shinjuku FACE is where (CyberAgent’s) president Susumu Fujita came incognito because he wanted to see DDT once before we joined the group. It’s a venue I’m deeply attached to, and we held so many events and so many matches here. In that sense, it’s really disappointing.”

>Ogawa, of the venue’s operating company Humax Entertainment, explained in interviews that the closure came about because a plan emerged to rebuild the aging building. “If we could have continued, we wanted to,” she said, revealing her regret.

>Ogawa emphasized the need for a venue on the scale of Shinjuku FACE—roughly 500 seats—and said they are also exploring the opening of a new venue. “I’m strongly appealing to the company, and I think they understand. I really do want to build (FACE) again,” she said, looking ahead.

>While noting that “nothing has been decided within the company,” Ogawa added, “After we close in September, I want to keep the (reopening) period as short as possible,” expressing hope for a quick realization. As for location, she named candidates with access in mind: “If you think about access, hub stations like Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, and Shibuya are very good.” Regarding the venue name, she smiled and said, “If it’s in Shinjuku, then ‘Shinjuku FACE’ would be a good name.”

>[Dragon Gate] KAI wins an emergency battle and earns the right to challenge Kikuta Madoka: “No way—seriously?!”

>At Dragon Gate’s Shinjuku FACE event on the 13th, a battle royal was hastily arranged to decide the next challenger for Open the Dream Gate Champion Kikuta Madoka (26), and KAI (42) took the win.

>The event was fully produced by the villain unit “Gaja Dokuro.” In the main event, Gaja Dokuro member Yoshiki Kato went one-on-one with All Japan Pro Wrestling’s Anzai Yuma, but Kato narrowly came up short.

>After the match, Kikuta, KAI, Kato, Minoura Kota, Jason Lee, and ISHIN—all members of Gaja Dokuro—gathered in the ring to close the show. As each gave their thoughts on the night, Minoura said, “Kikuta Madoka, sounds like you don’t have your next challenger yet. We Gaja Dokuro don’t usually get chances to fight within the same unit, but we’ve all got the ability and the track record to challenge for Dream Gate, right?” He proposed holding a battle royal called the “Gajumble,” contested under standard rules plus an over-the-top-rope stipulation. The entire unit agreed, and the bell rang on the spot.

>In a fierce fight full of illegal tactics, the final two left in the ring were KAI and Kikuta. KAI landed a thrust kick and a spinning back kick, but Kikuta fired back by going for a rolling lariat. KAI deftly caught the oncoming arm and transitioned into a flash pin, scoring the three-count.

>Afterward, KAI marveled, “A Dream Gate challenge—no way, seriously?!” He continued, “Come to think of it, Kikuta said, ‘There’s nobody left for me in Dragon Gate.’ Maybe this is fate. We Gaja Dokuro have no choice but to show them real pro wrestling. If we’re doing this, let’s do it right.” With matchmaker GM Saito’s arrangement, the title match was set for the April 6 Korakuen Hall show. Kikuta, heading into his V5 defense, accepted with confidence: “Open the Dream Gate Champion Kikuta Madoka isn’t going to be easy.”

>[All Japan] Suspended Yuma Aoyagi returns: “I want to regain your trust.”

>At AJPW Korakuen event on the 15th, Yuma Aoyagi (30), who had been under suspension, made his return.

>Last November, Aoyagi was involved in a traffic accident in Numazu City, Shizuoka, while his driver’s license was expired, and the promotion handed down disciplinary action including a three-month suspension. His return match was a singles bout against Hideki Suzuki in the day’s “0th match.”

>Wearing a black AJPW tracksuit, Aoyagi entered the ring and bowed deeply in all four directions. The venue responded with warm cheers and applause. In the match, the two engaged in a classical, catch-wrestling exchange. After a hard-fought battle with momentum constantly swinging back and forth, it ended in a 15-minute time-limit draw.

>After the match, he bowed again toward the crowd. Backstage, he apologized: “I would like to express my apologies for the tremendous trouble I have caused to everyone involved—promotion officials, the roster, the fans who support us, and our sponsors.” He vowed a fresh start: “From here on, of course in my private life, and also as a professional, I want to enrich what I do in the ring while also tightening up my private life—handling each and every thing carefully and diligently—so I can live as a professional who can earn everyone’s trust again.”

>Regarding wrestlers who held down the fort during his absence, he said: “I have nothing but gratitude to Suzuki-san for working with me today, and I want to thank Yuma Anzai for continuing to bring up my name the whole time. We competed together in Saikyo Tag, but because of me it ended—I'm truly sorry.” Addressing the fans, he added: “Even though I’m someone who did something like this, I want to regain trust so I don’t betray those of you who called out ‘Aoyagi’ today.” He renewed his resolve: “I’m going to work hard so I won’t bring shame to being a member of AJPW.”

Tbh not surprised that they welcoming back like that. This is what everyone expected.
When the news broke people thought that AJPW was lenient with him since anyone in any company would be fired.
Honestly I'm less annoyed about him and more at AJPW as a company (considered how they handled all the scandals they had last year) and their fans, but what can you do.

I'm not that radical, but now I kind of understand when some uncles says that AJPW is still running only because their legacy, if was like any other puro promotion things would be more dire, especially when it's about sponsors

Just finished the 3/15 AJPW show. Solid card top to bottom. Titans vs Saitos was a fun match that didn't go on too long like some of the junior tags did. I have to give AJPW credit in that this year they seem to want people to see the Triple Crown, Junior, and Tag titles as all worth watching as a main event and I think they're succeeding in that so far. Kuma showed some decent fire against Kento at times in the eight man so I'm hoping that match will overdeliver like Kento's match with Hokuto did. They also showed the blocks for the Champion Carnival and I see some exciting matches coming out of this like Go Shiozaki having matches with both Kento Miyahara and Yuma Anzai not to mention getting to see Kikuta in action for the entire Carnival. While I was initially not happy about having guys like Odyssey and Cyrus in while not having Ashino or Hokuto I think this is still set up to be a potentially better Champion Carnival than last year.
