So what's the story? The big feud or angle selling the show? Surely it can't just be Punk vs Roman for the Paul Heyman championship...?
>>
>>19925568
The funniest part about flopamania is that this just KWABs Vegas. WWE gets paid by the city whether there's 100, or 100,000 people there, and Vegas eats the losses. It's the same shit with the Saudis where the arena was half empty, but it doesn't matter, because WWE gets paid upfront. Amazing carny work by Nick Khan
>>
>>19925603
Are you still trying to push that the Rumble was empty? Not one AEW show will have more people than the Rumble.
>>

Is a famous show yada yada

I have watched the product so far, is decent to good but I agree it lacks star power, to be honest anyone would

>Run the event in the same place twice in a row
>Wonder why people aren't interested in going again
They burned out the market, its like when AEW at the start ran Chicago what felt like every other week and eventually had problems selling tickets. So you combine that with a pretty ehh card and still high ticket prices and here we are. They wont change shit btw cause they still make money off of it.

Vegas got raped, gaped and squashed by legalized online sports betting. People don't actually care about casino games, they care about compulsively gambling. That's why people used to play retarded shit like hazard. (fun fact, the fucking word hazard, as in danger, comes from the game). None of the shit in vegas is worth going to vegas for unless you are also a degenerate gambler. All the shows, booze, hookers and food etc. exists so that rich fags will show up and have fun and gable. Normal people don't have the cash to go to Vegas for the food and drugs and hookers and shows and can just compulsively gamble on their phones
>>

The same thing happened with Summer Slam. NJ had like $7 million in covid money from the government they had to spend on tourist shit so they paid WWE to have summer slam at giants' stadium

Your headcanon fantasy booking of what will happen during the WrestleMania main event isn't an angle to sell the show. It's sad that you're reduced to even having to do try to get excited for this dud. Might actually wind up being the WOAT mania

>>
>>19925603
Vegas begged them to come back and probably paid TKO extra to cover any penalties for breaking the contract with New Orleans. The people that travel to WM annually thought that between the ticket prices and the high cost of everything regarding LV, like paying high prices for hotel rooms with their nickel and dime fees, the cost of a plane ticket, getting gouged for food, drink and taxi/ride share prices, as well as having to deal with scammers, the homeless and dealing with cigarette and weed smoke everywhere probably make a fair amount of those annual attendees say 'no' to going out there this year. If they decided to keep NO as the WM host this year attendance would probably be doing better than these current numbers.

>>19925579
Draws aren't a thing and haven't been since the 90s, it's a fucking retarded line of discussion.

this. There's a reason why Vegas is having huge tourism issues

zero good storylines going into wm

>>
>>19926333
Roman isn't a draw either you dumb jeet faggot. This is an amazing situation. WWE gets completely fucked and look like utter chumps for blatantly jewing themselves out for this year's mania.
This also completely EXPOSES WWE's """""star power""""" and show that NONE of them are actually draws, just cheap entertainment for hicks and zoomie faggots and bragging rights/one night social media stories for bloodsucking upper class braindead retards.
>>

Realistically it can't be worse than 29 or 32.

>WWE gets paid by the city whether there's 100, or 100,000 people there, and Vegas eats the losses.
This is true. The things you don't like about how WWE operates these days all go back to the government. They steal money from taxpayers to get these sporting events, which distorts the market. Without governments stealing your money to misallocate resources to bringing in events that don't have demand, WWE would have to go to where the most fans are.

Also, the reason you're paying $30 for an ESPN subscription is because the Federal Reserve sets the cost of borrowing money artificially low, which gives ESPN the ability to borrow unnaturally large amounts of money to bid on sports rights, and you the customer have to pay off those loans.

You should've listened to Dr. Paul.

There is literally one announced match, which is a dream match with two of the biggest stars in wrestling today.

That's probably gonna stop working sooner rather than later. Cities are going to get wise to the fact that WWE isn't some Super Bowl level event no matter how many times they try to convince people otherwise
>>
>>19925568
Smark wrestling will never draw a single solitary dime no matter which promotion tries to run with it. Expell all smark influence off WWE and it will soon draw dimes again

Eh, I think the “Wrestlemania” brand is a lot more similar to the “Super Bowl” brand than you’re giving it credit for.

No, of course, WM isn’t in the same tier as SB in terms of the viewers and revenues it pulls in. That’s not where it’s similar. The biggest difference is that “everyone” watches the Super Bowl, whereas only wrestling “fans” watch Wrestlemania.

But they are similar in the sense that it doesn’t matter who is playing. Everyone tunes into the Super Bowl regardless. And fans tune into WM regardless. It’s “card proof” in that sense.

That said, a good card is always better than a mediocre card, and that can raise the ceiling. But there is a certain floor for WM whether it’s headlined by Rock v Stone Cold or fuckin Kit Wilson v Matt Cardona.

(Ok….maybe that’s a stretch lol)

Overall, I agree with those who have said that any lag in advance sales is mostly due to it being back in Vegas again. Any local who wanted to go probably went last year. And this year, all the tourists who would usually go to Vegas for something like this aren’t going to Vegas. But for Vegas reasons, not WM reasons.

In the end, it’ll be fine.

But hopefully TKO learns not to do back to back WM’s in the same place again. Especially a place like Vegas that relies entirely on outsiders.
>>
>>19926369
Consider this, 29 and 32 were shorter and only on one night. 42 is two nights, has NOTHING worthwhile, will have like four womeme matches and will drag due to entrance spam and ads.
>>
>>19925568
Quit doing the Vegas shit. AEW did the same crap
>>
>>19925609
yes porky the seats at the rumble were full of invisible people, those smelly smarks are slandering your beloved MIGA, sex trafficking, pedo company - the rotters!
>>
>>19925568
I unironically think that if they just kept it in New Orleans and changed nothing else, sales would be better.
>>
>>19928298
>>19928312
Vegas paid them an assload to come back because Vegas tourism is in the shitter due to the combination of the economy being bad due to stagnant wages and high unemployment with massive inflation along with the fact you can gamble like a degenerate on like women's 3 on 3 basketball on your phone
>>

>>

I can watch this year's WrestleMania main event on YouTube for free.
>>
>>19930607
holy shit, what an awful match. they'll be twice as slow this time.
>>
TKO will claim it's the "most profitable mania ever" and that will be WWE fans talking point
>>
>>19925568
Doing the same city two years in a row was a mistake. Even if I were a Las Vegas local, if I went last year and spent a ton on WrestleMania tickets, why would I go back a year later? Let alone expecting anyone to fly there and get an overpriced hotel room that'll be 3 times less expensive a week later.
>>
>>19930657
it's not the location it's the storylines going into this wm are all bad
