And he’s made the most of his promo opportunities (unlike Bron Breakker who fucks his up with his squeaky puberty voice or LA Knight who stumbles at least once every promo). But given Trick’s gimmick as the loud, smack-talking, newcomer hotshot, I don’t think you can have him lose (cleanly) until you’ve built a feud with a worthy adversary. And I don’t think they’ve had time to do that yet. It’s harder to sell his same swagger on Smackdown if he jobs (cleanly) in a random match. So you kinda have to keep booking him to win, I think. Same with Oba.Storywise for Trick’s character, it’s probably the right move to have him win the fucking Chamber and just put a rocket on his back directly to the Night One Main Event at Wrestlemania. Trick vs Drew probably isn’t drawing any dimes, but it sets up a LOT of story for the future. And that’s a match you can have Trick lose cleanly. That would do a lot for Drew too, if they still really care about him. I doubt they do it, though. It’s hard for me to believe they’ll keep Cody out of the WM Main Event. Mostly because I think the Cody wave is about to end and this is their last chance to put him in the Main Event. This time next year, I doubt anyone will see Cody Rhodes as still being an obvious WM Main Eventer.
