ROH is moving to a studio
>>
tiny is running out of play money
cant afford marketing for his PLEs either kek
>>

It should be moving to a dumpster. Cause it's a dumpster fire.
>>
Tickets are free

Holy grimoli. So that's what he's kept Athena in ROH for like 5 years for? Should've taken that CW deal Tony
>>
They should do what Billy Corgan did and bring back the old school studios
>>
>>19945198
I still don't understand why he owns and operates ring of honor and collision when he's having a hard time getting people to watch dynamite

I was going to make a shitpost and kek still tony etc but this one is actually sad.
It isn't like they got an Impact Zone-like setup or something. This is smaller than a VFW hall.
>>
>You’ve never seen a venue quite like the WJCT Soundstage.
>SQUARE FOOTAGE: 7,800

>Over 7,800 square feet of unobstructed event & production space, total environmental control, LED full color capsule lighting, 30-foot ceiling heights and more. The three-wall cyclorama, totaling 125 linear feet and measuring 23 feet tall, adds infinite flexibility to this already incomparable production facility.

Any guestimates as to what AEW's operating costs are a year, I bet the big guys like Omega and Hangman are getting a milly or two to keep them out of the WWE

ROH still exists?
Why?

top post on their facebook gives a good idea for the size of the space. It is not any bigger than that image showed above... What the absolute fuck.
This better be a standalone taping set or something because wew.

weird. Wouldn't that be an extra expense instead of just running it with Dynamite or Collision? Guess it probably doesn't make a difference though, show is a money sink either way and shouldn't exist.

>>
>>19945282
No, it is even smaller. 400 is their UPPER limit without a ring.
>>
>>19945198
They need their own separate touring schedule with occasional tapings during AEW shows. Community centers and small concert venues would do.
>>
>>19945283
It shouldn't even be a one off this is fuckin pathetic given the support Tony has behind him.
At this point have ROH do the county fair tour. It would actually be cool and people would probably show up for it.
>>
>>19945279
Studio makes it easier to have a more coherent show and would help if they want to focus on developmental more. They could throw up a few rings somewhere they got properties all over Jacksonville.

>>
>>19945285
ANYONE, who was anyone... wrestled at the Sportatorium
>>
>>19945311
It objectively is an upgrade. an independent event in your mom's basement is superior to piggybacking Collision and having everyone leave before the aprons are changed
>>
>>19945317
It really isn't, without a ring this place holds 400. Shit looks like a PBS studio. There are multiple venues in jax for cheaper one of which the jags own. This is retarded nonsense.
>>
>>19945326
you watch wrestling from a small studio every tuesday
>>

ROH would work for comic con shows as well.
>>
>>19945198

>>
>>19945356
I accept your apology please don't ever accuse someone of watching wwe or aew again. It is just needlessly mean. Like call me a nigger or something, not a wwe or aew fan, damn.
>>
>>19945357
Yeah but then you'd lose half your roster to panels and shopping at the convention.
>Where is Deonna?
>OH she had to get maclin a punisher comic and she's stuck in line.
>>
>>19945394
Very simple solution. Partner with the cons to run these shows as scheduled events. Momocon does it, GalaxyCon does it, Colossalcon does it, almost every convention has something like this. Hell, Booker T.'s reality Reality of Wrestling recently did a show at a convention in Houston. In fact, there's even wrestling conventions that would take ROH as well.
>>
>>19945415
They don't close down the cons when the events go on though, that was the (bad) joke. They'd be stuck in line since the roster is all fuckin nerds and nerd adjacent people now.
The idea itself is fine, cons and fairs are way better than tiny studios where you can't even get the whole roster and crew in the building.
>>
>>19945312
I forget who it was, Eric Embry I'm pretty sure, he ended up living inside the sportatorium the last couple years. Said he'd cook fries and shit kek, rats running around, said he had a cot I think. It was from a shoot he did. like 90%+ sure it was Embry anyway
>>
>>19945213
I'll bet the CW is quite happy with Tony's brilliance.
>>
>>19945423
Cons often have security which escort guests to events. Hell, some cons literally have staff/guests only areas that lead to backstage areas. ROH's setup would be small scale compared to AEW a lot of the time.
>>
>>19945455
You know I'm starting to get the opinion that some of you on here are actually just brown retards and it isn't a bit.
>>

>THE JAGS HAVE A LARGER BUILDING IN JACKSONVILLE WITH PRODUCTION FACILITIES THAT TONY COULD USE
Almost feels like a deal Sahid made or something as part of something and forced Tony in. Why would Tony book such a shit venue. It holds *400* people without a ring.
>>
>>19949600
Daily's is outdoor and is a little too big for studio shows. You're not getting that many to show up every week.
>>
>>19949614
Doesn't really make it make sense to have a venue that could maybe hold 200? people once you put a ring in the middle of it?
>>
>>19949625
If the ring is against the stage you could get maybe 300. It's a soundstage too so it'll sound a lot better than a bingo hall type building. That's how NXT gets away with it.
>>
>>19945198

Anon, look at the pictures and the video on the facebook of this venue. It isn't a "soundstage" at all. It is a small tv studio that they took the old lighting setup out of to make it a more "open room."
You're also not getting 300, 200 was being kind. That shit is TINY.
>>
>>19949715
not really small for a wrestling studio show
>>
>>19949731
That is the entire venue. The max capacity is 400 when it is filled fully with chairs kek
I don't think you're understanding just how small this space is. Compare that to even a basic VFW hall or highschool gym.
>>
>>19945198
Holy grimola

>>19949741

bro what sort of indie promotion runs shows OUT OF A STUDIO
>>
>>19949731
To give you an idea of how small this is: It is smaller than NWA Powerrrrrrrrrrrrr's studio.
>>19949763
I wouldn't, it also probably won't be a permanent thing, again there are way better spaces in jax that the jags have access to. This feels like a fuck up or something Tony got forced into. No way he's that fucking stupid.
500 would even be fine in a decent space if you showed it right. It isn't the amount of people in this case. It is this tiny ass room you can barely fit a ring in. I think people are getting worked by lens angles. Watch a video of this place like on their facebook where its in motion. This space is fucking TINY.
Oh well this is way too many words for what was just supposed to be me shitposting about toneman and instead became me being kinda sad for the state of tony khan's toy box.
>>
>>19949789
I know you're having a laugh but some of TNA's most based moments were in the impact zone in orlando. That one is unique to me when it comes to this kind of stuff.
Then again they also toured and filled up buildings in addition to that but whatever.
>>
>>19945198

If he weren't retarded he'd cut his roster down 20% to offset the cost of production of ROH, and put it in front of a crowd more in the 800-900 range. 400 is way too small unless it's completely developmental and you have people locked down for future AEW offers. Last time I checked there were like 220 people on the roster page lol. Skimping on this but wasting millions and millions of dollars on talent that you don't use is crazy to me. 30 people on 200k is 6 mill. You could pay for the production costs from that. And that's before tickets you distribute and the possibility of a tv deal like TNA. He could get a 5 mill a year tv deal for sure.

Like I know Collision costs 600k apparently each taping. But ROH is only one hour, so you can essentially tape 3 episodes in one day and cut the costs by 2/3, not even counting the fact that this venue would be much cheaper than the average on-the-road collision venue to start with. How much would ROH even cost to produce? 5 mill a year? can't be much more than that with this new approach. Cutting 30 people he's not using out of the 200+ would actually give this shit a chance to be something.
>>
>>19949863
Where are you gonna get 900 people? NXT is 3-400
>>
>>19949901
House of Glory gets 600. ROH can get that, come on. 400 is tiny.

If Tonetty didn't need to worry about money then he wouldn't be moving ROH to a tiny ass studio. This shit's NWA Powerr tier.

>>19945317
>It objectively is an upgrade.
Wrong, coping tranny. It's objectively a downgrade. ROH just went from touring the country to running in somebody's garden shed in front of 10 people. This is an admission that it's completely dimeless and not worth the cost of having it piggyback Dynamite or Collision. It's now the equivalent of a vegetable being kept on a ventilator because its family(Tonetty) doesn't have the heart to pull the plug.

Think it might be time for some transparency on this whole situation. Since they're doing it for free, it's basically about the same size as the NWA's studio tapings in Atlanta and Tampa. It's also located literally right across the road from Daily's Place (AEW's headquarters) and has room for parking from the Everbank Stadium and Daily's Place. About as cost efficient as Tony Khan can get for logistics. Not harping on the guy but they did this back at Universal Studios when ROH was relaunched.

Pre-lockdown Powerrr in that goofy 80s style was the best wrestling programme available and nothing has been that entertaining since then.
It doesn't have to be 2 hours either, just 60 minutes. RoH has the talent to do that and give everyone short matches, but knowing Tony Khan, that's not going to happen.

The show failed when Cornette left over woke fears from Dave Legana and shortly thereafter the show was cancelled due to lockdown restrictions.
Corgan then sold access to the show through some paid platform and yanked it off of youtube.
The official NWA channel went from over 200k subs down to 2k at most.
They destroyed themselves with shit management.
But in 2019, Powerrr was good.
