Say what you want about Vince McMahon, but he wasn’t afraid to try anything new- and that’s what ultimately separated him from all other bookers in history- not luck, not skill, not genius- just pure unadulterated balls.Michael Cole vs Jerry Lawler is a bad match structurally, but it’s a memorable and functioning story, that still gets talked about/ wether you consider that a failure or a success is up to personal perspective, but it leaves room for thought when talking about modern WWE booking.I don’t think Hunter is a bad booker at all, he’s very fine…and that’s the issue, he needs to throw caution to the wind at times, I understand he values stability and consistency above all else, but sometimes you need to f-ck it and turn Michael Cole Heel to do a year long storyline with an ai laptop gm that ends with stone cold stunning him at Wrestlemania in a terrible match, at least you can say you threw your art out there confidently and gave people something to talk about good or bad.End blog.

>>19952294Here's your problem.
>>19952327Hunter hired those guys, he needs to either clean house or do what Vince did and take full control - it’s one thing to be bad, but to be boring is inexcusable
that was the most memorable match from that wrestlemania
>>19952294>pure unadulterated balls. There’s a reason they say fortune favors the bold.Lots of fucking failure and bankruptcy also favors the bold, but so does fortune.
>>19952294I agree. His booking, even the swerves, is very safe. Paul is good at running the day-to-day show, but he needs to spice up the stories and the booking. It's like making movies, but you're a great director and not a great writer. You need to find a good writer to cover all your bases, otherwise the bad writing will squander your directing talent.
>hunter isn't a bad booker Stopping you right there
>>19954914Yep. And this is the microcosm of his wrestling career as well, when he had creative control over his own angles they usually sucked or fell flat- when Vince did he was actually a compelling and well rounded character, he needs to put his ego aside and get actual writers and not just his friends and yes men
