What are your thoughts on the AEW and WWE 5 star matches?
AEW is hard to watch in the UK outside of PPVs. If it was accessible as WWE I'd watch it as it can't be any worse than current WWE.

One of the early TLC matches is another one that gets cited a lot, I forget which one. Kurt Angle vs Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 21 is another a lot of people said should have gotten five stars. I've also seen people say The Rock vs Steve Austin at WrestleMania X-7 should have been 5 (idk if I totally agree with that, but it gets mentioned a lot). There's an Eddie Guerrero match a lot of people say should have gotten 5 stars but I'm blanking on what match it was.

I could be misremembering because a lot of matches blend together, but his best match in AEW for me was his match with Danielson from like 4 years ago. And that was led by Danielson who forced Kenny to slow the fuck down and work. And only then did he work a great match, because of Danielson. Danielson is, and always has been, a better worker than Kenny btw. The only thing holding him back in Dave's mind was spending years with WWE instead of New Japan. That's the only thing I can think of.

Once again I can point to Bret Hart, who did not have the same level of athleticism as Omega, and yet was a better worker when you compare both of their primes. Why? Because Bret was more believable and he could better tell stories in the ring, and Bret is a leader that could get a good match even out of shitters like Nash, or even a great match out of a drugged out, unprepared Davey Boy. Kenny has never been that kind of worker, even at his prime.
