If I won that sweepstakes, I'd definitely just take the cash value and put it towards a real airline and a real hotel. APA isn't even good, and you can find similarly priced hotels that are much better.
>>
>>19993569
It says the package is valued up to 1100 dollars, but the math doesn't work out if the plane ticket is 800 dollars unless it's a really shitty APA and also the show tickets are mega cheap. Like you're probably in the nosebleeds at Ota Ward.

>The hosting of Tokyo Joshi’s first-ever event in Vancouver, Canada has been set for April 1 and 12 (local time). It was recently announced that Sayuri Namba, a ring announcer who graduated from the promotion last June and moved to Vancouver, has been appointed “Ultimate Executive Producer” for the event.
>“Ultimate…?” The title already sounded mysterious just from reading the press release, and there were plenty of things to be curious about regarding both the role and the show itself, so we decided to ask her directly. Namba, still excited from having just gone to see the aurora, explained that she came up with the title herself. It may not be a familiar phrase, but she said, “I thought the important thing was that it sounds impressive, so I just gave myself that name. If I’m going to do it, it should at least sound cool, right?”—for some reason sounding rather proud. For now, the role is only planned for this event, but if it continues, the title might stay the same—or it could become something that sounds even more impressive.
>Namba also chose the venue for the event herself. However, it seems there were not just one but multiple disputes when trying to secure it. “I’d love to have all the email exchanges published in Weekly Pro Wrestling!” she exclaimed.
>In the first place, she decided to move abroad out of frustration with what she felt was the tendency of Japanese people to suppress their emotions, wondering what things might be like in another country. But after actually living there, she found herself increasingly exasperated with Canadians, who prioritize emotions: “Overall, it’s kind of crazy. I wish people would be more consistent in what they say.” Apparently, this made the venue negotiations especially difficult.
>>
>>19998394
>Incidentally, influenced by what she describes as Canadian personality traits, Namba even filed a lawsuit at the end of last year. Since that situation was also complicated, the details won’t be spelled out here, but she seems eager to talk about what she learned from the legal process—perhaps another time.
>“Still, I don’t regret coming to Canada. That’s exactly the kind of difference I wanted to understand. If I had stayed in Japan the whole time, I don’t think I would have realized what a great country Japan is. There, people follow rules as a matter of course… but in other countries, that’s not necessarily a given.”
>Returning to the event itself, this will be Tokyo Joshi’s first show in Canada. There may well be cultural differences there too…
>“There are parts where I’m absolutely convinced it’ll go over well. One is the pacing of the show. For some reason over here, a lot of ring announcers insert little chats after each match, like, ‘What did you think of that match?’ or ‘Isn’t it crazy that this guy ended up winning?’ It’s almost like small talk. I’m doing it too while thinking, ‘Isn’t this unnecessary?’ But since we’re in the age of short-form videos, I think that faster tempo will be well received.
>Also, there’s quite a high percentage of Asian people here, and even non-Japanese people often show interest in Japanese things. Tokyo Joshi kind of embodies Japan’s cute culture, so I think that’ll resonate too. And by coincidence, it overlaps with AEW’s Vancouver show—but if you come see ours first, you can still make it in time for theirs. Whether it ‘gets over’ or not isn’t really the point there, but I hope that overlap brings more people to check us out.”
>If this event succeeds, there will surely be a next one. As the “Ultimate Executive Producer,” she knows she has to give it her all. At the same time, Namba revealed that she’s also considering parting ways with what she calls “crazy Canada.”
>>
>>19998397
>“When this one-year visa runs out, I’m kind of thinking about going back to Japan. I feel like I can absorb everything I need to here within a year. More than that, I might start absorbing things I shouldn’t. First of all, my Japanese itself has gotten really bad—I can’t even use polite language properly anymore. And then there’s my attitude, I guess. People here tend to put their emotions out first, so I feel like I have to show my emotions too, almost to intimidate them. So when a problem happens, I actually get properly furious. That might be becoming a habit. When I go back to Japan, people might be like, ‘What’s wrong with her…?’ If I can’t switch back, I might end up blowing up at everyone (laughs). It’s just that this ‘Don’t underestimate Japanese people’ feeling comes out. Well, putting that aside, please support the Vancouver show! It’s super far away, but come if you can!”

Probably something to do with her (old?) office job. Not even a sexual harassment thing, but she was a receptionist at a doctor's office in a language she isn't fluent in. No way that didn't lead to some issues with either management or patients or something.

Marika has been showing up at Korakuen shows lately just to watch her friends. But I think if she wanted to keep working in tjpw/Tokyo, she wouldn't have moved to Malaysia. She also spent that time abroad in Europe. I think she just wants to be an influencer/socialite type. You know the ones.
>>
>>19998762
Marika was rocking designer clothes and the most expensive iPhone at the time when she was 17, then was "preparing for uni", wrestling, moved to europe to study which is expensive for a japanese, then went back to touring southeast asia. She obviously comes from a family with fuck you money, she doesn't need to do shit, this is just her living the good life.
>>
>>19998762
she (temporarily) moved to malaysia because she can't get booked overseas otherwise. her being available and japanese means she'll get booked on every show that's held there. if she'd stayed she wouldn't have had to move because she'd have been included on most overseas shows by default

>With a rich variety of characters and a pure battleground free of true heels, the central axis of competition revolves around the fight at the top for the three major championships.
>While the frequency of big shows hasn’t changed, Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling has gradually been increasing its number of overseas events. As a result, the International Princess Championship—one of the promotion’s three major titles, centered on the theme of “vs. overseas”—has been revitalized. Although there is little interaction with other domestic promotions, exchanges with international wrestlers are beginning to bring noticeable changes.
>In addition to the annual summer singles tournament and winter tag tournament, the “Next Generation Tournament,” focused mainly on the new generation, has also been held for three consecutive years. With regular opportunities for younger wrestlers to rise up the ranks, it’s certain that the three title scenes are gaining even more momentum.
>Although there was once the heel faction Biishiki-gun, one of the promotion’s defining traits today is the absence of true villains. There are no unit wars; instead, the focus is on straightforward individual rivalries. That’s precisely why the shows can be enjoyed even as standalone events rather than only through ongoing storylines. With such a wide variety of characters mixed together, fans are sure to find someone to oshi. After every event, special fan sessions are held, making it an especially friendly environment for supporting your favorites.
>The promotion is also highly active on its official social media. In particular, the Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship often changes hands backstage after shows, so keeping an eye on the company’s X account is a must. Some wrestlers are active outside of pro wrestling as well, and nearly 12 years after its founding, Tokyo Joshi has continued to modernize—its battles are no longer confined to what happens inside the ring alone.
>>
>>19999208
>Featured Matchup: Miu vs. Arai
>It has been decided that Miu and Arai will compete for the Princess of Princess Championship in the main event of the promotion’s third-ever show at Ryogoku Kokugikan (3/29). After graduating from SKE48 last year to focus fully on professional wrestling, Arai will be making her second challenge for the title, aiming for her first reign. However, at present, the difference in ability between the two is clear, and defeating Miu—who has long dreamed of headlining at Ryogoku since the day she won the championship—will be no easy task. If Arai were to win here, it could quickly change the color of the entire promotion. But what kind of landscape will we see after Ryogoku?
>Biggest Selling Point: A Wide Variety of Characters
>In Tokyo Joshi, where wrestlers from other promotions rarely participate, each performer’s character is one of the most important elements. Including Kanzaki, who debuted this year, the wrestlers bring out their inner originality from their very first matches, adding color and depth to the in-ring action. Misao’s intellect is also utilized in every match, and her pre-match promos—often setting the direction of the bout—have become something of a staple. Extending from that is “HYPE!”, a show produced by Misao, which places the focus on the “life” of a single wrestler each time.
>Rising Star to Watch: Uta Takami
>This year’s tag tournament concluded with the victory of Ober Eats. Standing across from the reigning tag champions in the final were Mizuki and Uta—a makeshift team whose run to the finals came as a surprise. Supported by Mizuki, Uta fought valiantly. Though still considered one of the younger wrestlers and ultimately falling short, the experience must have been a significant one. Last year, she also won the “Next Generation Tournament” among her peers, and now she has taken a leap forward in tag competition as well.
>>
>>19999218
>From here, there’s a strong possibility that she’ll become involved in the title picture.
>Future Key Person: Miyu Yamashita
>Last year, Miyu Yamashita was appointed the first-ever Leader of Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling. However, she has not been heavily involved in the promotion’s title scene in recent times. Although she previously held overseas tag team belts with Toribami, she challenged for Mizuki’s Princess of Princess Championship last year and came up short. With a new-generation wave led by Miu currently surging through the promotion, there are high hopes for the resurgence of Yamashita—the absolute ace who has supported the company since before its launch and boasts four Princess of Princess Championship reigns. If her revival further energizes the promotion, all the better.
>Future Challenge: The Rise of the Next Ace
>Two years ago, Miu overturned what had been a long-standing issue: that the Princess of Princess Championship lineage consisted almost entirely of the original members. However, Mizuki later reclaimed the title, and then Miu won it back, giving the strong impression that the group competing at the top has become fixed once again. The championship is now in its 16th reign, yet among the rostered wrestlers, only the original members (Yamashita, Nakajima, Tatsumi) along with Mizuki and Miu have managed to win it. That reality weighs heavily on the promotion. Thus, the emergence of a new ace has once again become a central question. Who will be the one to break through and create that second crack in the ceiling?

How do they even keep track of that, though? Are they also going around with a bunch of tickets to sell when they're hanging up posters?
>>
They really had Arai pass out and then Miu brutally mogged her in the post-match. I know uncles love their "growing up" and underdog overcoming the odds and all that, to me it's just stupid and makes your challenger weak and looking like a geek. At least if they are doing that story, make Arai lose even more times to Miu before the match, but knowing Koda they'd do the absolutely braindead 50/50 booking and have Arai get a win over Miu in the build up
