I still think Cody should’ve lost the second match and Roman should’ve broken Hogan’s record. THEN Cody could’ve won in the third match. I mean it would be great character development if he was just a broken man, never fulfilling his dream, becoming desperate and angry. Instead he won and then he went on to do a few matches that were whatever and now that he’s lost it all his luster is gone.

Roman’s probably not going to be around long enough to really benefit from that reaction but he’s already getting pops that would have been unthinkable 5-6 years ago.
