This is the destination for all based webms, brotherOn tonight's docket: New Japan's 54th anniversary, three nights of New Japan Cup action and more!
I'm starting off with what I could salvage from the horrible production of the US show.
I <3 Kawada sells
Ishii's headbutts are so good.
This looks awesome, but of course being Richochet he ends up being far too much.
HUGE pop
I love this. Nakahara seems to have a lot of fire, too. Hard to judge him off only too matches, but he looked solid.
What's going on with Wolf's booking? I don't get why you'd give him the crazy beat-EVIL-clean-for-a-belt debut and then make him House of Torture's personal jobber. I understand they need to bring Narita up to leader status somehow, but this feels so aimless. I feel like the faction's dead in the water without a charismatic leader like EVIL.
The whiplash here is nasty.
Huh what u mean
This looks painful. It's probably more than half sell, but still. Good stuff.

Cool chop block here.
Alternatively, "boltin saves phantasmo's life.webm"
>>20020525I'm so sick of this faggot style.
>>20020837I'm not a fan of it either, ELP's jumps were the reason I didn't webm the spot originally. Seeing it lose out to pure power's cool, at least.
Based pitbullCHAD
OH!
Starting with the anniversary show too, though I doubt I'll get to finish it.What a good brawl this is. So rarely do they look this messy in a good way.
These two have amazing chemistry. Definitely the first round match I'm looking forward to the most. Which reminds me, what're your picks for NJC finals and winners? I'm a simple man, I mark predict Uemura over Oiwa. Simple as.
>>20021380I don't know, people bounce around Yuya and Shota but I heard an interesting case for Goto. He'd make a great defence for Tsuji and who knows if the Street Fighter movie does well maybe there's money in Goto again.
>>20020826with his head no less
>>20021405I don't know about Shota. I absolutely believe he's gonna go far, but I feel like they've correctly reevaluated him with the reactions he's been getting. I have him losing to Oiwa in quarters, but now that I say that out loud that feels like total mark booking. My """dark horse""", using that term very lightly, is Newman. I feel like it's a semi-expected push given that he's coming off a Finlay win and all, it's more a dark horse in the "I don't want this to happen" way.>I heard an interesting case for Goto. He'd make a great defence for Tsuji and who knows if the Street Fighter movie does well maybe there's money in Goto again.Honestly, his reign was all you need to convince me there's money in Goto. That was booked so strangely. I'd happily see it, the issue is I think now is the time to elevate more young guys. Tsuji being a clear top guy is great, but he needs more guys from his generation to feud with.>>20021454That's what I call quick thinking!
>>20021471Callum has this Ospreay stuff lurking. I think he has to deal with his ghost and fully put UE in his name before moving into the main event.
*BOWS DOWN TO THE*>>20021497Yeah, that's a totally fair point and something I wasn't considering. I think that can potentially do great things for him, too. I still don't love the way he wrestles and I don't think he's very good at character work yet, but I think him turning heel has added some spice that he was lacking and I actually really did like the Ospreay interaction, as overdramatic as it was. I don't actually want this to happen, but I think him challenging Ospreay after a NJC win would be neat. One time, just once, I'd like to see a tournament winner challenge anyone except the top belt holder, since in kayfabe they technically have a right to ANY match, not just the IWGP. I guess "any match" technically wouldn't count people under non-NJPW contracts, but still. I like the idea of someone being so worked that they forgo a championship opportunity just to get the match they want.
>fujinami's reactionGold
Just stopping by to say that you're still a hero and a saint, Webmbro.
>>20021621Always happy to hear it, and happy to have you, brother. My threads would mean nothing with nobody reading.
I'm gonna post one of my favorite DG matches. I might have done webms of this previously, but desu I'm not really keeping track of stuff I've done. I just do webms on a whime>Losing Unit Must Disband>No Disqualification Elimination Match>Toryumon Generation (Naruki Doi, Masato Yoshino, Dragon Kid, Susumu Yokosuka & Genki Horiguchi) vs R.E.D. (Eita, Kaito Ishida, H * Y * O, SB KENTo & Hip Hop Kikuta)Other notes>First Losers Disband match since Over Generation disbanded in the summer of 2018>One of the endpoints of the Generational War of 2020 as Eita’s crusades against Masato Yoshino and Ultimo Dragon comes to a head >Some of the eldest in the company going against a team with the two youngest guys in the promotionAlso fun to think that most of the R.E.D team is now gone from DG either due to naturally phasing out, getting fired or signing with other companies.
Tired-of-this-shit face Yoshino is based
big pointy stick
Why would he do this?I'll leave you all with that question, and let the thread rest in the hands of ever-so-based DG poster. I'll be back tomorrow with the rest of the anniversary show, NOAH's 3.1 show and some more stuff to close us out! Goodnight, bros.>>20021757Hell yeah, more OC! I gotta give this one special props, it looks insanely good for almost 50 seconds.
fuck>>20021832thanks webmbo. Always appreciate the thread and as you see it sometimes lights the spark to create some webms
>>20021683>Always happy to hear it, and happy to have you, brother. My threads would mean nothing with nobody reading.I rarely post, but I'm always here catching up on the highlights of shows I missed. God bless, brother.
Webm bro, It's Macho Mania! If you have the time to watch those, I would appreciate anything that caught the eye from these matches. I'm short on Macho Man in my webm folder. His opponents doing moves on him as well. Thank you for everything you're doing!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHog2VZdCoAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiAuRwlytlEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZDKQRd8ekchttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpDlKyrB9Wkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ymd_8-ZMya4
>>20021923+1 for these
maintenance can't kill us
I'm back! Thank you all for keeping us bumped. I'm gonna start out with the requests and then continue with the anniversary show.>>20021923Here you go! Honestle, I got fasr more out of the commentary for this than the match itself, Gorilla Monsoon keeps making puns about the rain.>at 235 pounds... soaking wet>and we're under way, and almost under water
I'm struggling to get much out of these, but hopefully you like the webms. If you have any concrete requests, let me know!
>>20021757Kino
Continuing with the anniversary show now!
>>20024158Jake Roberts' attempt of kicking out sold the illusion of real struggle
Jeiku must suffer
>>20023925damn wrestling in the pouring rain must have sucked
I like this as a finish, but it really doesn't suit the weird-ass court jester thing he's doing. He could've used this in NOAH.>>20024342Monsoon mentions how it'd fuck with their traction super hard. That being said, they do barely wrestle. The match is three punch exchanges, and armlock and a rollup.
>>20024053Is that Earl Hebner or his brother? Love the selling when DiBiase went for a swing.
>>20024468Not 100% sure, but I'm sure other people know more about WWF and could answer that for you.
Christ, man.
This really worked me. Not this exact sleeper, the one later in the match, but still. I actually thought Oskar could do it.
Like I said yesterday, I really haven't really loved Newman as a heel, but something with this build really worked with me. Surprising, too, because I felt Oskar couldn't really stand on his own as a heel without Yuto in the tag feuds, but he looked like a monster in the tag matches here. Good stuff.
We're getting closer, Watobros... I can feel it
God I love this move.
Based DOUKSTER bumping his ass off
This is one of my favorite Tsutenkakus in a while. Feels much more like an actual suplex than a guy jumping over Wato's head.
I won't know if this was improv after the Daybreak, but I really like this. I'd happily see him use it more regularly.
Next up's NOAH's 3.1 show!
Oops, disregard. I missed one. Hard to webm the streamers but this is a fun spot.
>>20026052Thanks anon. I requested this is the other thread and you delivered like a champ
GO TIREMAN GO>>20026181What thread? I must've just gotten lucky, kek. I rarely browse the board itself.
I love this seething lil nigga like you wouldn't believe
>repeating the shit that got inamura concussed in their last match>inamura sells like deathScary.
So slick.
We're gonna take a walk down the King's Road to close us out. Pants off, bros. This is Kobashi vs. Kakihara from 15.07.1998!
I really like the struggle for the DDT here, and the way Kobashi overhooks Kakihara's right arm to keep him there while going for it.
"Kobashi tanking hits just for the comeback" will never, ever, ever get old.
We're officially in the LARIATO era of Kobashi's career.
Next up is one of my favorite underrated tag team matches in AJPW. This is Gary Albright, Masahito Kakihara & Yoshihiro Takayama vs. Hiroshi Hase, Johnny Ace & Kenta Kobashi from 18.07.1998. And what a way they open.
I love that last whiffed punch. And Kobashi just tumbles. So good.
LOVE Ace spotting Albright and immediately running in. He can't hang with the shooters when it comes to grappling, but he knows how to save a tag partner.
I really like how he just shakes it off and then changes the submission. Hase's a part-timer, he doesn't have time for your shit.
Such a good tag-out. Hase's basically in the middle of the ring and has full control over Takayama.
Christ, the force in those kicks, the first and last especially.
Its the 16 Carat Gold weekend over in Germany.thought I'd see if I could get some webms down. Here's Peter Tihany from Hungary making what I thought was a nice save from a botch
>>20027472Shoot thought lil nigga was gonna hit the strut based on the filename>WXW OCNice. If Murashima wrestled any, I'd love to see it.
>>20027485I'll see what I can dig out. I think he's wrestled 3 times so far. But I can only find 2 of the 3 shows where he appears
whoa
ridiculous set up, but if only the timing was a bit better.
This sleeper break rocks so much. It goes on for way longer, Hase gets, like, four rope breaks before Kakihara finally gives in.>>20027501It's appreciated!
First Murashima match is your regular rookie against Robert Dreissker, the head trainer at wXw
Next up is Zoltan from Hungary against BUSHI. Zoltan has only been wrestling for 2 years at this point so I'm not quite sure what to expect.
Wee!>>20027528>>20027542HOLY FUCKING ムNEYThat's a nuts avalanche hold. God I love this lil nigga.
>>20027581Match was fine. Zoltan is like n early Tihany (his trainer) or even an early Will Ospreay. All style and flips and not really that smooth with it yet or able to tie it back together. And BUSHI is a safe opponent to make a young wrestler look good. He's safe but clearly holds back. The fact that it's just t-shirt BUSHI tells me how interested I'm going to be in the match.Next up is Thomas Shire vs Chihiro Hashimoto. A real size mismatch
cool!
gotta have the massive german in this match type
holy shit
>>20027603>>20027618Hashimoto is so fucking based>>20027627>gotta have the massive germanIsn't that Shire?
>>20027640Thomas Shire is American actually. He's got a cowboy gimmick and is trained by Dory Funk Jr. & Funaki
>>20023925>>20023992>>20024053>>20024096>>20024158Thank you for the webm's bro! I know it's hart to find particular moves that look good but I just love the aesthetics of those old school shows so even the basic moves look great for me. Thanks again!
think I'm gonna end my posting with Bobby Gunns vs Erick Stevens and then I might follow up on the rest of the 16 Carat weekend, next weekend.
KOBASHIMUSTSUFFER>>20027645>trained by Dory Funk Jr. & FunakiHoly yenola>>20027647Anytime, brother. Glad you liked it!
holy>>20027677It's just strange how some people get popular. Shire is 37 and has been wrestling for 18 years (he has one AJPW tour. AJPW Anniversary Tour 2008, 17.10.2008-03.11.2008 as Elvis Sharp if any AJPW connoisseurs). But I only think he really started getting really noticed in 2021 when he wrestled for AAW. Then i 2022 he was brought in for one match at wXw's Wild Card show and they've been booking him more than any promotion since then.
>>20027687anyways that was really it for me webm wise, might stay and chat. Thank you for your time!
>>20027659This bald nigga's got good intensity>I might follow up on the rest of the 16 Carat weekend, next weekend.Hell yeah, I'd love to see it! Thanks again for the OC.>>20027687Jesus fucking CHRIST lmfao
That'll be all for me for this week! Once again, thank you all for coming to yet another thread, and an extra thanks to the anons who made OC for the thread! I'll be back next week with more New Japan Cup, this weekend's NOAH show and surely more stuff that I run across. I'll see you all then. It's been a pleasure, as always. Goodnight, bros!
thank you, bro
>>20027745Thanks again for the good stuff!
