Just finished the PPV, it was excellent.The professional bodyguard gimmick with Aoki, Yamashita and Syrui protecting Saki Kashima all the way to the finish was cash money. I guess this was what was in Syuri's head when she tried to get Ami Sohrei to debut as "the bodyguard." The match was good, and I'm continued to be surprised with how much leeway Maki Itoh is given with her little spots, she's got some strong supporters in the office.Spark Rush running rampant was no surprise, that spinning, jumping splash mountain powerbomb Iroha hit on poor Akira looked brutal. I hope they keep the heel with the most heat (to me) in Stardom away from Kamitani.Future was great. Ranna Yagami's outfit was sweet as hell. The result was not unexpected but the finish was a big surprise and Hanako's selling of it was maybe her best performance ever, from the KO, to the belt-wrap, to the collapse into tears. Aya Sakura got a literal spot-light after the match and very well could be the best actress with the best facial expressions in the company. The way she "takes chicken-shit and turns it into a chicken-sandwich" makes her stand out in a way we haven't seen since Tam Nakano's early days. First half of Rina / Hannan was mid but they did not disappoint in the final stretch. I love how Rina continues to tease Hana Kimura's Tiger Lily in high stakes, high pressure situations but hasn't found success with it yet. What was that finish Hanan won with again?Haven't been online much yet to see the reaction but that Twilight Screwdriver finish was definitely *not* a botch. Saya was totally fine, she barrel-rolled to her shoulder. It seemed like Tam and Saya probably talked Kurara into it and practiced it and that's just how it had to go. Looks like CozAn is going to die, the only question is if Tam will make an appearance or if it will be a solemn funeral.

I watched your recommended match of the HANAKO vs Yuria trilogy. Both girls uphold the high standards of technical execution demanded by the tradition. Yet I didn't think the match was very good. It was poorly structured, poorly paced, and it went way too long. The structural and pacing defects were most glaring across the 23 or so minutes that made up the middle. Each girl took turns taking a big move, writhing in pain on the ground (sometimes for a few seconds and sometimes for way too long), instantly recovering, and then repeating this sequence. Unlike the best matches from NJPW a few years ago or Misawa-era AJPW/NOAH, neither girl convincingly "wore the damage" as the match went on, which seriously undermined any dramatic sense that I was witnessing a real struggle. This is more than a minor flaw in my estimation. Mayu looks fine as she mechanically runs through the finishing sequence beginning with the tombstone. Without trolling, I can honestly say that Punk and Roman will demonstrate their in-ring superiority to these girls at WM42, because both of them have repeatedly demonstrated an understanding of pacing a match with consistent selling and rising tension. The same defects seem to plague all of puro right now, and truly impressive matches are rare across the globe atm, but I gotta be honest and say that this trilogy finale hasn't changed my interest level in joshi.
