Most over? Probably Shoko. Also Miyu and Shoko stole that main event from Miu and Arai. Im a Misao chad so obviously hers. The hammer and bike breaking was pretty funny and in a way, charming. Her promo was hilarious too. The crowd definitely skewed more with people in their 20s and 30s instead of mostly uncles like in Japan. Misao is beautiful. Its crazy when you see someone on your screen and then they are literally right in front of you.

One thing they need to do with these foreign trips is try to do them around conventions and other events. AEW helped last year and SXSW, at least for the Austin shows, helped too. Like doing some tours attached to shit like Dragoncon, Otakon, Holiday Matsuri, or whatever and promoting it mostly to that type of person who might be a nerd and weeb but not as familiar with wrestling would probably be for the best. DDT isn't even doing a show for Mania week. Feels like they're giving up. I bet stardom could draw a good crowd if they put the effort in, but so far they've offered up what the stardom fans seem to feel are second tier cards. Meanwhile TJPW has committed to giving foreign fans the true TJPW experience. I like the idea of TJPW teaming up with one of the major Texas anime cons next year. Clearly it helps to hold these shows alongside some other big event

Thing is what is the unique Stardom experience for the American audience? At least with their WM appearances they can do 2-shots and portraits of the girls who flew out. Along with some merch. But some of the more popular talents who have to prep for the big ASGQ show aren't flying out. Or others have a tighter schedule. So its almost like they are trying to entice the US audience to fly out for the rest of that experience.

Stardom's style, at least outside of Japan, is really only going to appeal to wrestling nerds. TJPW has a style that's a lot easier for casuals to get into plus the wrestlers have a lot of personality and energy. Every time I see Stardom and Marigold wrestlers try to be goofy and cute in the same way TJPW wrestlers are it's like looking at skinwalkers it's so inauthentic.

In the past I thought I've seen them do meet and greet via wrestlecon. They may do one after their show as part of the slamfest since the next show after them isn't starting until 9pm. But nothing has been announced. Spark probably will do a meet and greet as well so the Stardom girls can milk all the opportunity since that show is on a Sunday afternoon.

In Japan Stardom does 2 specific days (one of them being around December?) where all the players show up for portrait signings. As well as take a 2-shot or with most of the unit.

Oh yeah some of the real good merch for Stardom is sold live at the event. Extras could find its way at the MyStardom store but in some cases FC members get priority and they fly out fast.

TJPW to some degree like some of the nice portraits that are pre-sold for the big events. But with the portraits I've seen sold at the Texas tour they look really nice. I was trying to find pics on twitter from those who got portraits from TJPW Vegas to see what they were using but I had no luck.

I felt that the Dallas show was much more smarky compared to last year. Idk, this is just anecdotal, but everyone I ran into this year seemed to be either a hardcore TJPW fan or an aew fan. But last year I met several people who weren't wrestling fans at all. Anyway, the show was a lot of fun. Misao burying Mizuki and Rika's English skills during her promo popped me. That three way might have been my favorite. I was worried when Mizuki climbed up on the entrance scaffolding, but it was a great spot. I think Shoko was the most over. It seems Arai still hasn't won over the foreign uncs; though I did my best to cheer for her.
Things I learned at the meeto:
As you know, Namba was on a film set recently. She played an android in a short film. She doesn't know when it'll be released. The director is wanting to take it to film festivals, but that process is complicated. She'll make a post when she learns anything.
Pom went to Six Flags again. Last year it rained when she went, so I'm glad she had good weather this year.
As I mentioned earlier, Uta got Buccee socks, which she showed me.
I tried asking Rika if she saw any bands while at SXSW. But my Japanese isn't great, so I don't think she understood. Instead we just talked about bands we like. Of course she likes Oasis, but she likes Weezer too. I recommended Rush to her.
Last year Itoh clearly had the longest line. Idk about this year. A player would have no one in their line, then a minute later they'd have a super long line. Seemed like most people there were trying to meet as many as possible. Even Vert was doing well. Most gaijin only stay a few minutes then leave at these shows, but I think Vert benefited from sticking around and picking up customers as they finished up with the TJPW wrestlers.
