But your post also exemplifies exactly why so many just don't fuck with AEW. Matches should have heat. Especially big ppv ones. Especially big ppv world title ones. A part of that is being able to cut a promo and create tension and drama between people. AEW is capable of this. There was a stretch where they had been doing it beautifully across a number of feuds. Swerve and Hangman, Ospreay and Fletcher, Toni and Mariah which to this day is the best thing I've seen come from there. But so many times and far too often Tony just lazily relies on fans being like 'oh well it'll be a good match' to excuse his lazy piss poor writing and booking and it's really disappointing as someone who used to and wants to like AEW
